Faceless Masks are a progression system that will make Horrific Visions harder but increase the number of Corrupted Mementos that you'll receive. There are 5 total Faceless Masks that you can collect and you'll get special rewards when you can full clear with all 5 Masks active!
Faceless Mask Guide
This
Faceless Mask Guide
goes over the 5 possible Faceless Masks, explaining how each Faceless Mask works and noting some possible problem points! We've included some examples below.
Masque sans-visage du pont brûlé
Moving causes void zones to spawn in your path and drain sanity if standing within them.
Whenever you move a certain amount, a
Pont brûlé
void zone will spawn at your previous location. the pools hit for a base of 30 Sanity and deal a small amount of damage.
Pont brûlé
will NOT tick instantly and you can enter the pool for a short time before the damage and sanity ticks.
The size of each
Pont brûlé
pool will change depending on how many players are in your group. This is because when in a group, you can see and take damage (and lose Sanity!) from other player's
Pont brûlé
puddles.
Pont brûlé
will have about a 5 yard radius when solo, down to about the size of your character model when in a full 5 player group.

Masque sans-visage de sombre imagination
While below 50% sanity, occasionally an enemy of the void will spawn and attack you.
This Mask is something that can cause you to fail your Horrific Vision run if you're not paying attention.
When you're below 50% sanity, you'll randomly spawn a Horrific Figment add periodically. This Horrific Figment will automatically aggro onto you, no matter your current location and will run towards you Aggroing any mobs along the way. It doesn't have much health (~200k) and killing it can actually proc
Don des Titans
, which is useful on long boss encounters.
The reason it's so dangerous is because it can put you into combat when you're not expecting it, preventing you from putting down a Sanity Orb and potentially making you Sanity out.
However, there is a spawn animation for the Horrific Figment, which can give you some notice when it's about to happen. It's rather hard to see sometimes, but if you're paying attention, you can be ready for it. You'll need to look for a small purple orb projectile that flies out of you and starts making its way towards the ground. When it hits the ground, the Horrific Figment will spawn and that's when you're put in combat. We're taken a picture of the spawning animation for the Horrific Figment below.
Rewards: Black Serpent of N'Zoth Mount and Faceless One Title
There are quite a few achievements that you need the Faceless Masks to obtain but the two most notable one are
Dans les profondeurs des visions
and
L’antre de la folie
. Both of these achievements have a reward that is more than just achievement points:
Dans les profondeurs des visions
requires a 5 mask run in both Stormwind and Orgrimmar, in addition to some other requirements. This rewards the
Serpent noir de N’Zoth
mount.
L’antre de la folie
requires a
solo
5 mask run in both Stormwind and Orgrimmar. This rewards the title.
The black serpents of N'Zoth are the harbingers of his ultimate vision becoming reality. Only those servants or enemies that can tread this space have any chance of wrangling them.
