Amateur concept artist Sercan Özyurt, aka Lordozy, has created fan concept art for a Kyrian Pegasus mount. This led us to review the Shadowlands Collector's Edition art book, where we found unused concept art for a Kyrian Pegasus too!
Lordozy is no stranger to creating imaginative mounts, as we last featured him here at Wowhead for
playful interpretations of the upcoming free Shadowlands mount
. Now, for the Kyrian Pegasus mount, he takes variants of the "Horse 2" (aka Unicorn) model like
Crin-de-Ciel transcendé
and accents them with Kyrian-themed wings and armor reminiscent of the
Covenant armor sets
.
Mix everything together and you get the
Reins of the Kyriasus
, with even more
color variants available on ArtStation
. In the words of the artist:
Kyrian culture is based on Greek Mythology. So I was inspired from the atmosphere of Bastion Zone, and I decided to make pegasus Themed Mount Concept. Based on Invincible Model. I hope you like it!
While Unicorn mounts can fly in Shadowlands, and more color variants can be obtained from Ardenweald and Bastion, none of them sprout wings like this concept art which feels like a missed opportunity. Perhaps when Shadowlands flying is implemented, we'll get a pegasus mount with wings!
In reviewing the actual Shadowlands models, we took a closer look at the Shadowlands Collector's Edition, and noticed the official Art Book included concept art for a Pegasus creature. This model was not implemented in Shadowlands, so hopefully we'll see it added in a future patch.
