Mythic Battle of Dazar'alor Day 2 Recap - Is the Race Almost Over?
31/01/2019 à 00:48
Another day has passed in the World First Race. EU got their first day of progression and NA got their second day. Limit managed to claim the World First kill of Stormwall Blockade, while only a total of 3 guilds have killed Mythic Mekkatorque and it looks like it's Blood DK season for these encounters.
for tracking the World First race and recording the compositions and specs of the guilds!
Mythic Mekkatorque appears to be quite the difficult encounter with only 3 guilds having defeated him so far out of a total of 12 guilds that have defeated King Rastakhan.
Mythic High Tinker Mekktorque World Firsts
Limit spent the least amount of time out of the three guilds learning the Mekkatorque fight, and also had the highest item level, a whopping 4 levels over Pieces. Much has been made of the ilvl situation that benefitted Alliance NA, in which Limit could take advantage of the Against Overwhelming Odds quest, as well as the NA Warfront ticking over later than EU, for two extra ilvl 400 pieces of gear.
Time Spent Learning Boss
Limit and Pieces don't appear to be streaming their progression, so we're highlighting the Method kill shown on the Method Race to World First Stream:

It's Blood DK season, with all 3 guilds recording two Blood DK tanks for their
Poigne de la mort
abilities. Also of note is that each guild used Two Druids for their ability to
the Spark Bots.
Affliction Warlocks were also in high demand, with Pieces bringing 4 on their kill, as the extra spark bots allow them to stack their Azerite Trait
much quicker, similar to Sub Rogues on Zul, but not nearly as potent.
Method used two tanks on the kill, but spent a significant amount of time on progression with three tanks, which may have caused them some delays on the kill.

Mythic Stormwall Blockade
Stormwall Blockade was defeated by Limit early this morning, and no other guild has managed to defeat it yet. Their item level was 400.6, up from 400.1 on their Mekkatorque kill.
Mythic Stormwall Blockade World Firsts
Limit doesn't stream progression, so we can't see the full encounter, but
Method's Race to World First Stream
got to see most of the entire encounter. The largest changes are as follows:
On Mythic, Spawn of Laminaria adds are active in Phase 1 and casts
Houle de mer
taking up much of the boat's room.
Phase 2, the minibosses from Phase 1 will be active and periodically deal large amounts of raid damage and use their
Tentation de la mer
You can see how chaotic Phase 2 is on Mythic difficulty.
Limit's kill composition used 2 Blood DKs once again, probably to
Poigne des morts
the adds, as they have the only slow above 50%. They also have 2 Resto Shamans, which have good healing while the group is stacked.
Lastly, except for 2 Havoc Demon Hunters, the entire rest of the group was ranged and multi-DoTers! You can check out Wowhead's
Raid Composition Tool
to see the buffs and utility provided by the specs in the raid comp.
Limit has been working on Mythic Jaina for almost 11 hours. With them not streaming and no updates, will Jaina fall soon? Is there a secret hidden Jaina phase? They're done for today, so we'll have to see when they wake up and continue tomorrow.
