Patch 8.2.5 PTR Release Candidate

A new build is currently being deployed on the 8.2.5 PTR servers. This is the first
Release Candidate
build, which means we are getting close to a 8.2.5 release date! Patch 8.2.5 was also available for
background download
earlier today.
Blizzard hasn't given a launch date for 8.2.5, but it could be pretty soon. They've been cranking out patch previews, including
patch notes
, which usually occurs right before the launch of a patch. It's possible that the patch could be time-gated, with features like
Recruit A Friend
available at the start to take advantage of the influx of Classic players subscribing to BFA, but other mysterious features like the War Campaign ramping up over time. Perhaps we'll get introductory War Campaign quests at the start of 8.2.5, staggered over several weeks and culminating in a Durotar Warfront around the time of Final Fantasy's update in October.
It's also highly unlikely that the
15th Anniversary Event
would go live right at the start of the patch.
