Beguiling Tuning Thoughts
Emissaire enchantée
The change to
Emissaire enchantée
is nice and solidifies it as the least intrusive Emissary. There are multiple ways to keep it out such as your healer dealing with it, having a boomkin
Force de la nature
it out of the group or even a rogue standing between the Emissary and the mobs with
Déluge de lames
active.
Emissaire des marées
Previously, you would handle the
Emissaire des marées
exactly like you would Infested. Crowd Control the Emissary, pull the pack and then kill the Emissary at the end. However, it's more than likely that the mobs won't be dead in 8 seconds, so you have some options:
If you have a Druid, have them use
Sarments
every 8 seconds.
Chain multiple Crowd Control abilities to keep the Emissary out of the group.
Hard single target burn the Emissary before any dangerous casts go off.
A combination of both of the above: crowd control the Emissary as long as you need to kick the casts, then let it in and focus fire it down before they cast again.
Emissaire touchée par le Vide
This doesn't change too much and dealing with the
Emissaire touchée par le Vide
is still very difficult in certain circumstances. You have a very hard single target burn on the Void Emissary and it still has quite a lot of health, more than a "regular" mob in the dungeon. The cast was increased to 9 seconds and that gives you a 27 second time limit (with no immunities and no Line of Sight) to burn the Emissary down before it becomes a one-shot. And doing this forces your healer to heal through 50% health, then 75% health in damage on the entire party.
You might be asking, "Why don't you just line-of-sight it?!" There are some Void Emissaries that are positioned in a way that you can dip behind a corner to have a decent uptime on the Emissary. But, there are also other Emissaries which Blizzard has placed in the middle of an open field with no line-of-sight anywhere close to the Emissary.
The other possible way you can handle the Void Emissary is pulling the mobs out of range (60 yards) but then you have to deal with the Emissary at the maximum 5 stacks granting a bonus 250% shadow damage. How do you kill it then? It won't stop casting
Décret de la reine : Cachez-vous
until you die and leave combat, or its health goes to 1.
And of course, you can't skip the Void Emissary because it has True Sight and once it detects you, it auto pulls whatever mobs are nearby.
Here are some examples of frustrating locations for the
Emissaire touchée par le Vide
:
Second picture from
Flawlesspls' Stream
The first picture has a
Emissaire touchée par le Vide
paired with Windspeaker Heldis, a miniboss that has a very large health pool and does massive AoE damage.
The nearest line of is probably back up the stairs, which is at least a 3-4 second run. That's 6-8 seconds of running per cast which leaves very little time of actually hitting the Emissary to kill it!
All this is going on while Windspeaker Heldis is doing massive damage with his
Grands vents
ability.
It's possible that you can death run this entire section, but this
Emissaire touchée par le Vide
prevents you from performing a regular skip in this area.
The second picture has a
Emissaire touchée par le Vide
in the middle of a Dervish pack, a
required
pack in Temple of Sethraliss. There is no skipping this pack.
Where exactly is the closest line-of-sight spot for this
Emissaire touchée par le Vide
? I'm not sure there is one without just flat out outranging the Emissary.
General
The reduction is cast time on
Téléportation : Palais Éternel
is a nice quality of life change because it keeps the Emissary around for bonus seconds. While casting
Téléportation : Palais Éternel
prevents the
Emissaire touchée par le Vide
from casting Hide, the aura from the
Emissaire enchantée
and
Emissaire des marées
persist. Alternatively, if the Emissary is the last to die (usually the
Emissaire des marées
), it just keeps your healer in combat for a bonus 5 seconds before they can drink.
Emissaries still feel like a chore without a reason for killing them. There's no mob count, no buff and no penalty for skipping Emissaries. You'll want to skip as many as possible, especially skipping as many Void Emissaries as possible, even through death runs and using Battle Rezzes.
