Use Raidbots to Find Your Best DPS Upgrade in the Great Vault in Shadowlands Season 2

With the first Great Vault of Shadowlands Season 2, it is a good time to highlight one of the best ways for DPS players to find their best item to pick from their vault, Raidbots' Droptimizer. Players can use
Raidbots
in conjunction with the
SimulationCraft addon
to sim all pieces available in their Great Vault to find what piece will provide the largest benefit to their DPS.
Don't forget to check your loot spec
before
opening the Great Vault.
In short, if you already have the
SimulationCraft addon
installed, all you need to do as you log in after the weekly reset is:
Open your Great Vault
Run /simc
Copy/paste to Top Gear
Select the Great Vault items
See which sims the best
By doing that, Top Gear will also include pieces from your Great Vault, which will be denoted with a
GV
flag at the item:

Great Vault, Domination Sockets, and Raid Gear
There are two tips of advice for players that also plan on raiding Sanctum of Domination:
Wait until you're done with your weekly farm or until your raid group hits a wall to pick a piece of loot so you don't pick loot for a slot you're getting raid gear on
Don't pick items for slots you have Domination Sockets on
Sanctum of Domination rewards gear with special domination sockets that players can add Shards of Domination on and receive grand bonuses while in the Sanctum of Domination raid. These sockets can only come in select pieces of gear, so picking a piece of gear from Mythic+ or PvP from your vault while you plan on also getting raid gear can be a waste, as you will likely want to always have all possible domination sockets in your gear.
