So I got my ID/PW fixed up, requested a key and got one, went to the download page and clicked on the Startrek link. All I get is an error saying the page is not able to be found. So I reloaded (several times) the download page, flushed my cache, nothing seems to work. Simply unable to download it.
So since I couldn't download it from the Zam site, I went to the official StarTrek:Online website, found the download and gave it a try. Tried 4 of the partner download sites, not one of them was able to do the download. Then I tried it from the ST:O website itself. The ST:O downloader loaded and ran, it started the download and sat there doing nothing with 0 download speed.I'm thinking something is broken.
Their site has been having issues throughout the day, I believe.
I wish you could do the same thing for the cataclysm beta I would so want that but anyway downloading now says its gonna be 12 hours lol thats a long download
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
the folks working on star trek online developed champions online, that should be a red flag to anybody who played champions or even hellgate london
Was able to score a few from Fileplanet before they went out of stock. :P
Well I tried the game out, it will not be getting my money.First, the graphics look "wrong". In the space station the avatars looked "pasted on" the scene. In other words, they didn't blend into the environment, they looked like bad CGI. Space wasn't nearly so bad but the ships are too clean if you know what I mean.As for the ground missions, any more forced and they might as well make it a rail shooter. The over abundance of brightly shiny click me and press F objects is obnoxious. Your choice of movement is usually overly guided, plus its not like you can get to the destination any other way, blocked corridors and the like give you only one choice all the time.Space combat. OK, so I am only past the tutorial by a little bit. I was playing with a friend experienced with the game. I am also a big fan of the Star Fleets Battle game that came out ages ago on the PC. Combat was "meh". I spent more time fighting the camera than the other guy. Movement needs a lot of work, while I don't mind keyboard movement I would like to see some mouse click movement added too (as in, clicking around your ship causes it to go/turn/etc). Shield facing and weapon facing is sometimes important but the handling of ships makes it annoying, sorry but if I am not moving fast why can't I pivot faster? (I know some later bridge crew abilities will help fix)Customizing the ships was interesting but again, the ships hold no magic for me. I guess a lot of that comes down to how the controls are laid out and such. Perhaps experience and time would rectify it but honestly the game isn't good enough to put time into it.Let alone the fact I remember what happened with Champions (should that be Chumpions?) and these people don't deserve money
For those looking for a stable download, the Fileshack one saw me downloading at 450+kb/s.I would imagine that those sites offering the download for premium members (with a key) would be best, but they are not accessible to those who got a key by less conventional means.
February 2nd.
as of now they got a glitch where when you beam to your ship you stay human in outerspace and cant do anything for like 4 mins same the other way around ship inside that can't do anything.
