Blizz is really killing my excitement for Legion. WHY do they have to add pointless restrictions on how we have fun? Do they want to lose more players? This transmog system was overdue as is, now they are botching it up on us...
alpha is still in early development means that beta will come in a few months, not few weeks like I thought right?))
I really don't mind the restrictions at all. Where would the fun be of doing a raid for transmog that you can't solo and having EVERYONE roll for that one piece of armor type that only your armor type can equip? I'd sure hate losing that plate piece I've been after for weeks to a clothie.
^ Except you can only roll need on your armour type anyways...
Personally, if they are trying to even the playing field for classes who can only equip limited armor types, perhaps they should just make it so all BoP items unlock, regardless of if you can equip it or not. I don't include class specific gear here, personally, but anything else should be fair. Don't restrict everyone just because of certain class restrictions. Why not open it up instead? There's no reason to put these meaningless restrictions on a system that's meant to be for fun. There's THOUSANDS of items to collect. Restrictions or not, it's going to take ages to collect it all. I farm on multiple characters already. It's a huge bummer (and no improvement over now) if I get a BoP cloth item while farming on my Paladin that I've been searching for for months on my Mage. It's a horrible feeling even now. This new system, I thought, was supposed to do away with those types of horrible feelings. I guess not.Farming with others? Go with a group you trust. If a cloth wearer wants a cloth piece first, I'll let them have it (as I'm a leather wearer). But, it shouldn't stop me from being allowed to roll on it if none of them need it. Don't play with jerks, and it won't be a problem. And just to be clear, I'm talking only about unlocking. I don't think people should be able to transmog cloth over plate, etc.Oh well. At least I can wear my mage CM set on my alliance mage now. Sad I didn't have enough decent characters to get more classes during MoP =/======Currently still required to go to an NPC to transmog is a bit of a bummer, but as long as I can set different transmogs per spec, and don't have to go back to the NPC each time I get a new piece of gear, I'm fine. Personally, I'd rather they do something more along these lines:
I'm still confused. If I'm a shaman and have a cloth BOP item in my inventory that I can equip is that item added to my wardrobe?
UGGHHHHH Dammit Blizzard this shouldn't be too hard...These restrictions on unlocking transmog KILL incentive to actually farm old content. Part of what makes me not want to play my alts is because they look bad. If I could farm cool looking armor sets for them, I'd be much more inclined to hit 60, 70, etc to get a cool look for my character. Using transmog, limiting cloth to cloth and plate to plate is fine and dandy. Limiting plate classes to only ever be able to transmog plate (while now they can equip cloth and transmog cloth onto cloth) is a big kick in the nuts to roleplayers, as well as lower level transmogs. This is how it should be done:Soulbound items are added automatically to your wardrobe once looted/obtained and impossible to refund. BoE items aren't, but you can either equip those or mail them to a class that can equip them. This'll work the same way transmogging or putting stuff in Void Storage works now- soulbound stuff no refunds only. For item appearances that have both class restrictive and generic requirements (aka off-set items), they will be tracked separately in the wardrobe. To prevent lvl 1 people transmogging gear they don't have the level for, each separate item appearance will have the lowest level requirement to equip it as the requirement to transmog it, either automatically or depending on which lookalike you have. C'mon Blizzard, this isn't too hard. The spirit of transmog should not be destroyed by idiotic restrictions that self defeat obtaining looks. My system may be a bit clunky and feature possibly too many redundant systems, but it ensures transmogging gear works exactly the same it does now, it just expands unlocking appearances. Fix this, and fix this NOW. I didn't think it was possible, but this new system as it is now is WORSE than what we currently have.
The unlocking system is a disaster at the moment, and not because it's not finished yet, but for the intended way to unlock items they've mentioned...We're not going to equip them, we're adding them to a library. They should be added to the library upon binding, PERIOD, just like their heirloom library did and still does. When I got a caster staff heirloom from Garrosh while I was playing with my rogue it was added to the collection instantly, so why make an inferior system compared to what we have today?
Is there a cap to the number of saved outfits you can have stored?
Silver Star Dragoons@dragoontweetsDec 10@WarcraftDevs Rumor from alpha is clothies can unlock cloth transmog but plate cannot. Intended behavior?ReplyRetweetFavoriteWarcraftDevs@WarcraftDevsDec 11Intended. Plate wearers unlock plate, mail wearers unlock mail, etc. Weapons must be equippable by that character.so if we want to get everything we need a toon of every armour class? is that basically what they are saying?
Shoulders can be hidden. This right here will fix at least half of my transmog woes. This is the first bit of Legion news that has caught my interest, but it's a doozy.
Everyone getting mad about armor transmog, when the #1 thing I still want to know is if the options for daggers and fist weapon transmogs have been opened up; really want to have a fist in my offhand to go with the Doomhammer rather than the weird molten duplicate.
When they first announced the updates to transmogrification in Legion, they mentioned that they were considering making the MoP legendary cloaks and other no longer obtainable legendaries transmoggable. Does anyone have any information regarding this?
