The vanilla quest was awesome, still have the mats in my bank.
My warlock just got this mount. For those looking, the prerequisite for the mount quest chain is completion of the quest chain. You check your completion using the referenced achievement. Note, My paladin had already completed the quest chain, so it shown as completed, but warlock still had the last 2 quests to complete (no check mark). Didn't need to get 'exalted' with Legionfall as rep is account bound. (achievement is not).Immediately upon turning in the last quest, an npc there next to Khadgar on the Broken Isles offered me the quest to go back to the warlock class hall. As an alchemist, I simply made the unbending potion. The other mats cost me less than 200g on the AH (especially this late in patch). At 890, the final boss fight is 'hard' but not impossible. Affliction. Just tab target and dot all the imps so they don't overwhelm. I talented into Grimoire of Supremacy and ran with an infernal as tank. Had enough time between waves to heal up infernal, but still lost him (or almost lost him twice during fight). Once rider is down, immediately cast enslave demon on mount and he's your's.
I've done 11/12 of the class mount quests (all except Monk) and I can say, by far, the Warlock one is the most annoying/run-around. Of course this is a throwback to how my warlock originally got her mount back in the day when you had to do an insane amount of quests to get your steed so for those of you who weren't playing back in Vanilla, etc. this is but a small taste/tribute to the long tedious quest to get the mount.Outside of the Warlock, I'd say the Paladin has the 2nd most difficult/annoying- again, a throwback to the old days when you needed all that Stratholme materials to get your upgraded mount.So, hats off to Blizzard for a little history/tribute but yes, be prepared to do a bit of running and collecting to get this mount.(As for the most "fun" mount quest so far, I enjoyed the Priest one the most- if you played in Wrath of The Lich King and are "familiar" with Brann's ability to get you into trouble in a titan vault, it's a blast. The Hunter one had a very unique flavor to it as well and involved a nice story-line.)

I can't believe the complaining here, some people actually considered this grindy? I loved the new quest chain, and I understand the game is less grindy than it was, but I've been a warlock for over 10 years so I got a few things to say. - This quest should've been more grindy, not only match up to the epicness of the original Dreadsteed, but because Warlocks are even lucky to get a 2nd mount; except for Paladins, no other classes had class mounts up until Legion.- The original mount quest for Dreadsteed cost MORE GOLD than the Legion mount. You needed a couple hundred gold for mats off the AH, then you had to buy the 3 quest items for 250g. Now rewind to vanilla/tbc/wotlk and remember that gold was SO MUCH slower to acquire, especially in Vanilla. Sure, locks didn't need to spend 1000g for L60 riding like the rest of the classes, but still, it was a lot.- The original had SO MUCH more traveling to do. You traveled from Burning Steppes in Eastern Kingdoms to Felwood in Kalimdor and back many times, as well other areas like Eastern Plaguelands.- In Legion, Owl Beasts dropped like 5-7 quest items per mob, so you had to kill ~8 beasts to acquire 50. For the original quest, you traveled from Burning Steppes to Winterspring, and it had a 33% drop rate, so you were killing around 90 OWL BEASTS. - You had to travel into Scholomance and kill yourself outside the dungeon unless you did the Western Plaguelands quest chain for the key. And this dungeon back in day was a hard ass dungeon! Terrible large mob pulls, and ghosts that continuously respawned. The last room before the boss where your objective was single-handedly one of the worst mob pulls I know of in a vanilla 5-man, even as a level 70 it wasn't possible to solo unless you wanted to spend an hour mob pulling from the level above with AoE Rain of Fire (a special trick that was very time consuming). Nevertheless, I've always loved the dungeon, but it was hard and long to complete to the part where you could let your imp out at the lab.- The last quest required a near full dungeon run of Dire Maul EAST, and you had to run Dire Maul WEST half-way chasing an imp to get the key to EAST. Once you started the ritual, it was a hell of quest. You had demons coming at your group from all sides, meanwhile you had to make sure that all 3 of your quest items didn't lower to the ground (you had to run and continuously click them to keep them up). If you made it to the end, it was quite the journey and the reward felt amazing. It never really got bored of the mount until Legion came around, it was the number one patch a warlock could wear back when the quest existed.As I said earlier, I love the Legion mount and the chain was fun, but it wasn't the same as the level of epicness that the original required.

Talk to Elithys Tempête-de-Feu first who gives you the quest La missive de Porte-sang which leads you to Mor'zul Porte-sang.

If you're looking for how to start the mount quest, you need to be at the Broken Shore and find Elithys Firestorm who is to the right of the command center. She will give you the lead-in quest to Mor'zul who is located on the left-hand side of where you added the artifact power to your weapon.
