As a member of the Alliance, I have to say that my favorite Troll memory is Vol'jin's death.
I loved seeing the Shatterspear Trolls before Cataclysm via flight path, dancing the night away.I also always liked Zul'Farrak, since Sandfury Trolls seemed the most interesting to me.
When I started getting back into WoW around the end of Mists, not only did Throne of Thunder become my favorite raid aesthetically. But upon seeing the heroic Regalia of the Witch Doctor set dropped from this raid, I knew then and there the Zandalari were the coolest things ever.
Trolls are my absolute favorites in WoW, I have 46 in total XP I started playing very late during Mists so I missed out on a lot of troll content while it was current, the original and new Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman instances, Zul'Drak and so on, even Isle of Thunder was deserted by the time I got there, the following two expansions were completely barren of troll content, no dungeons or zones or anything (and my favorite warchief got to do virtually nothing save hang out in the garrison for a bit and then wave us goodbye on our way to Tanaan) so words can't describe how happy I was seeing that the new hub for horde is Zuldazar!Getting the chance to really explore the capital and the area surrounding it, seeing so many different tribes and spirits and getting my hands on troll-themed mounts, pets and transmog is everything I could've hoped for, not to mention the chance to actually play as Zandalari! They're pretty full of themselves but they look really cool still and it's so nice to just have some more options for tusks or tattoos, not to mention the amazing druid forms. I can't wait to see where their story goes, I'm almost angry with Blizz for announcing the expansion so far ahead of release date! XDI got a Zul'Gurub memory too, or rather a blurr of Z'G because it took me over 600 attempts to get the armored Razzashi raptor -.- it's like that jerk Mandokir sensed that I really wanted it and deliberately kept it from me. Ultimately I stood victorious, but by then I was pretty tired of the grind!
Biggest troll moment for me is easily Vol'Jin being put in charge of the Horde by Thrall at the end of Siege of Orgrimmar. I especially like the reveal to the Alliance when Varyan asks to speak to the warchief.I'm still wondering if I'll reroll my shaman from a Darkspear to a Zandalari, waiting to see what their racials actually are, but those totems sure look good and them standing straight up will probably make transmog look a lot nicer too!
My favourite troll moment? Definitely good ol' Zul'farrack, on my human warlock. I think it was the first time I saw trolls in the game aside from players and the character creation page. Always wanted to play one, but never commited to leveling one (because I wanted it to be a rogue, and I used to hate leveling rogues). But hey, I tried again a few weeks ago, a bit before 7.3.5, and I now have a proud lvl 63 rogue troll, and the transmog system definitely helps roleplaying a troll a lot ! I'm all about that Big Voodoo Mask :)
I never did get the Amani War Bear. FeelsBadForeverMan.I'm not sure of my favorite Troll moment but I can say that I'm extremely excited for the Zandalari and their Loa to have more prominence in Battle for Azeroth! I'm very keen for all the juicy, new lore to come!
I've never wanted to play a Druid in my entire life until I heard that Zandalari were getting dinosaur forms. Let that sink in.
My first character was a night elf, and I used to repeatedly take that flightpath in Darkshore that goes over what was then an inaccessible valley on the northern fringe, just to watch the trolls dance. Ha...seems silly, in retrospect. But I was sure I could identify a way into that valley if I flew over enough times and kept an eye out. Then Deathwing solved my problem for me, although it took him long enough to get around to it.
Before Legion I only played Mop a bit but I was intrigued by whole Isle of thunder mood and Zandalari. Too bad I didn't paid more attention to the lore. I'll definitely level Zandalari alt in Bfa even though i mainly play Alliance as Horde allied races are way too cooler.Cant wait to go through new storylines.
I remember when I first entered Zul'Drak; walking up the massive stairway that led to a forest of faded-red trees and chiseled stone temples, I was blown away. Watching the trolls feverishly fight back against the endless tide of the Scourge. Locating Drakuru and plotting my revenge for his betrayal in Drak'tharon Keep, whilst also observing the Scourge war-machine going at full throttle. The argent Crusade smack bang in the middle of it all, desperately trying to stay alive over a war on two fronts. Scaling the different levels of the zone to reach Gundrak, to face off against the Drakkari who had twisted their gods into machinations of war. Overall my favourite zone in Wrath, mayhaps in the whole of WoW.
Back in vanilla I had two druids, one feral and one resto. With dual spec and then eventually being able to respect anytime (with gear that would change accordingly) there was little point in having more than one, but in BFA I am going back to having two because I miss it. I'll be keeping my gentle Tauren as my healer and rolling a savage Zandalari as a guardian druid. I've already reserved her name - Gonkáka, 'a daughter of Gonk'. I think it's a neat choice. I can't wait!
Sorry: I just can't like trolls. I may be a little racist here but, even though I play Horde, I come from a place of phantasy stories where trolls are always the bad people. Besides, they're green. Ugh.However, I went through my *I-need-to-do-all-I-can-to-compete-with-the-best* phase. Well, I was young. So, I played a troll for a couple of years. Never got attached and always had my helmet on, but that miniBL racial was just too good. I was glad when they changed the belf racial so we got a 1% crit. It's not the best but I don't care. It's enough. I'm finally back to my own skin and I can like trolls once again... from afar.I felt angry when they killed Vol'jin so randomly though. Stupid writers or :S Whoever is responsible, you better have an ulterior motive here: I'm still waiting for a good explanation.edit: Oh, right, I still need to share a "most favorite memory". Well, Zul'gurub was the first raid I visited, back in the early WotLK. I was a noob mage and joined my first guild. We were about to enter Naxxramas, but our guild master decided to test our forces better, so we went to Zul'Aman. It was... A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Mostly because of that first raid feeling, but also beause it was dark and creepy and terrifying. thanks to the trolls. See? They were the bad people ;)And I still keep one of their heads in the bank. I use it as a mask in Hallow's End :D
My favorite moment was probably the Zanzil questline in Stranglethorn Vale. Having done the original quest chain before Cataclysm, I was very pleasantly surprised to see Zanzil return with an increased role! His new model, combined with his role in resurrecting the original bosses of Zul'Gurub were a great little tease for the new dungeon; the Vanilla player in me was very tickled. :-)
I liked when the trolls recovered the Thunder King's body in Pandaria, and this led to whole patch...The rebellion against Garrosh was pretty cool to...
My favourite memory is probably the ruins in north west Stranglethorn. In vanilla they were a real bastard to quest in as they were filled with blood thirsty trolls. This led to some real difficulty and me dying a lot, but what do you expect when you're wandering in to troll territory?
As a member of the Horde, I always looked up to Trolls as the most ancient and iconic race of Azeroth, huge native population perfectly fit for this World. That feel and respect only strenghtens when it comes to Zandalari. I'm really jealous of the players who witnessed all the "Zuls" since Vanilla.
I have been a fan of trolls since Warcraft II. Zul'jin was great in WC 2. I was happy when he was used in WoW. Wish he had a bigger roll, but ZA was fun. I am looking forward to the new trolls and hope they will expand the troll races/options even more in the future with some of the other troll races. I really want to make a large forest troll with the red faces.
Two Troll based memories I have are of first the added of ZG and the breakout of corrupted blood. Second was seeing the New Zandalari models in the Isle of Thunder and thinking now there is something I would play and guess that dream came true. Now for the Trinker class so I have a excuse to make a gnome and goblin that won't be replaced by another allied race in the future (replaced both my gnomes and single goblin to roll allied races on a 50 capped account)
Zul Gurub will always stand out for me as the place you can no longer get the great tiger mount. Worst decision Blizzard ever made for mount collectors, as there was no good reason to remove it.
