Glad to see Apocalypse baseline and Army of the Dead's cooldown reduced.\r\rSludge Belcher is also being removed it seems, which I'm indifferent to currently.\r\rWoa, and they're bringing back Unholy Blight? That's neat.\r\rOtherwise, I'm liking most of the changes here.
DKs desperately needed a movement speed boost or a gap closer and they not only increased the CD of Wraith Walk but they removed the talent that reduced the CD and increased the speed... I hope frost gets some additional movement help.

So we're losing Abomination and Val'kyr . . . Wraith Walk and Gargoyle become talents . . . Apocalypse has two less ghouls but Army gets a two-minute reduced cooldown. Ouch. That kinda put a damper on these changes.\r\rNew Epidemic look great \u2014 maybe too good though, seems like it should be a baseline ability for AoE damage outside of Death and Decay \u2014 not sure how well the new Corpse Explosion and Defile stack up against it. New Soul Reaper seems worse than before too. Unholy Blight and Death Pact make a return \u2014 but I don't see them being used much due to their competition . . . I'd be excited for Unholy Frenzy if I didn't have to give up Gary for it.\r\rGotta say I'm a bit disappointed with this.
I hope we are able to keep sludgebelcher. I had fun times death gripping someone for them to run away and get yanked back by the hook of our buddy.
I'm SO happy about Death's Reach. That pull mechanic is so core to the DK style, and they nerfed the crap out of it from WoD to Legion. If only Unholy could get Gorefiend's Grasp back, too! I never used Sludgebelcher, anyway. I know it's the talent you're "supposed to" take, but I prefer the extra interrupt.

Mechanically speaking, it's more like we're losing gargoyle and keeping the option to talent into arbiter, since the new gargoyle is more like a modified val'kyr (in that you feed it with RP) than the boring fire-and-forget gargoyle of Legion. Also we're technically getting apocalypse back, since prior to this point it was just gone, like most artifact powers. All in all having apocalypse as a baseline offensive CD and losing gargoyle feels a lot better to me than the reverse, since apocalypse actually interacts with other aspects of gameplay (bursting wounds, generating RP, summoning ghouls that have their own interactions with various talents) rather than just being an extra button to press every 3 minutes like garg.Agreed on wraith walk, though, that is a definite ouch. DK already felt slow in Legion, and now we're going from a baseline movement CD and a talent to buff it to having no baseline and the vanilla version of the ability as a talent, and that doesn't feel good. Hopefully it'll at least be balanced against other classes (many of which are also losing movement abilities), and won't just cripple DK on high-movement encounters, but in any case the general loss of mobility isn't an aspect of BFA I'm looking forward to.Also I second Gendibal and Atticon's points about glyphs. It should take next to no development time to add in a glyph that uses an already-implemented model, and that way everybody can have the aesthetic they prefer.
We were pretty split internally on Gargoyle vs. Val'kyr. Gargoyle is kind of more classic WoW Death Knight from Naxxramas and Val'kyr is the slightly newer WotLK Arthas Death Knight. We thought Gargoyle fit Death Knight as a playable class, a bit more.This is a huge contradiction, the DK's we play are second gen DK's raised by arthas so, we are closer to Arthas as a DK. On the other hand Blizzard locks us from being able to play allied races due to being second gen DK's. So that argument only applies when it fits their interests. Blizz is becoming a politician party.
Why they brought that damn Death Pact back? Didn't they took it away because the mechanics of this skill were terrible? The damn Corpse Shield wasn't even close to OP skill and dunno why they took it away...
Losing Sludge Belcher is going to be huge in PvP. Unholy relied on that extra pull and mini interrupt a lot!
What about frost? Can we please be more then just blue warriors? Give us a Lich form or something...
This was one of the most anticipated page on wowhead since BfA announce, for me. And i'm torn apart. 1) sludge belcher. No. You can't take him away! Ok, you can, but i hate you for that! I love him! He is the best minion i've ever had! No srsly, i LOVE the extra hook. And the looks. Now we will be back to some retarded ghoul :'( 2) actually SOME talents look okay. 3) I didn't liked IC either, and I see a lot of now exceptionally reasonable choices (not like previously. Like if we want our Aoe to be dependent on positioning OR resource-based. 4) But it is bad. Very bad. SLUDGE BELCHER IS GONE! I WANT MY ABONIMATION BACK!
Good point, im with you there. I hope we see them as glyphs!
