can test it on ptr now. enable dx12, then play with the MT cvars. set all to one except for the disable. but once you enable the 4 MT renderers, you can use disable to toggle diff between non MT and MT. especially check it out on boralus. :D pic.twitter.com/CxvR1raf21— 🧔🏽Adam (@MysticalOS) October 6, 2018

Will this enable Multi-GPU support? I'm assuming no? Kind of sucks that after BFA moved to dx12 and windowed full screen. I can no longer use my SLI anymore
so excited i poop my leather chair how to fix now?
Multithread support will be a benefit for all who can take advantage of it, but don't get too excited until you do your own testing. Overall clock speed is still going to be the major contributing factor. 6c/12t @ 3.7ghz will not see nearly as much of a bump (if any at all) as a 6c/12t @ 5.0 ghzWhat WoW really needs is a completely new engine, but the absolute impracticality of that concept is off the table (and it would still be CPU bound due simply to the nature of MMO's). Maybe if there's ever a WoW sequel.Either way, any increase in performance is a welcome addition. I rarely, if ever, dip below 65fps at ultra settings with AA on, but 80 would be even better!
great test, cuz so many ppl are running a 7980XE >.<
You should really link AMD/Nvidia's sites, instead of that old pcgamer article for compatible hardware constantly. Its going to be misleading for a lot of people. Needs to be 900 series or newer for Nvidia, while the article says otherwise.
Does anybody know if this made it in to the 8.1 live patch today ?
It is live in 8.1 but whether you see gains is up to your system
Do we need to manually do the config file settings for live? Or does this magic happen automatically?
I had to edit Config.WTF manually, and am about to test on 8.1 live.
today the patch went live and i enabled it and have little performance increase spec: 4790k @4.5g / 16gb / 1070 / 1080pive upgraded the display driver to latest version, enabled dx12 in game, and added the settings in config.wtf listed in this wowhead post.and still the game only eats one core, the last thread. on my regular setting getting ~40 looking afar, 60 staring at the floor.i wont changing visual settings as they would meddle the result. besides, im a regular streamer, it cant do 60fps even on the lowest setting with addons disabled when streaming (nvenc).anyone experiencing noticable performance increase?original posted on reddit: https://new.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/a5ri9e/today_81_went_live_and_i_enabled_dx12_still_not/
In theory multi threading will improve the game... just a shame its piss poorly implemented... i can see my system running on all 8 cores with about 20% load... then one core shoots up to 100% and the rest down to 5'ish % and the system locking up... well done activision
