SO she died twice within 15 mins of each other? ok
I dunno, I'm not convinced by Azshara being the one who died thrice. All those deaths are wrong since she never actually died. Like, her first death in the sundering? Excuse-me, she didn't die, you can see how she was about to die, but was transformed by N'Zoth. And these two events should even count as two deaths? BS! And in the raid, she doesn't die, she is beaten and ends-up unconscious. You can clearly see that when the tentacle grabs her, she's still very alive. These 'answers' to Illgynoth's puzzle lines changes all the time. It's like the "her heart was a crater, but we filled it". Could've been Azeroth herself. Could've been Azshara. Could've Alleria. I mean, come on!The one who died thrice was once Sylvanas, then it was Alleria...There was something about Alleria felling like she died when she was forced to live on the Xenedar far from her son and I'm sure you can also extrapolate that when she absorbed the power of L'ura in Mac'aree, she also died a little, or when she learned how Quel'thalas had been devastated...And I'd say Sylvanas is still the one which fits the best. She died already 3 times (killed by Arthas, suicide after ICC, shot in the back in Silverpine). Maybe one death doesn't count, or was forgotten, and the third death is coming later in the expansion? Maybe her death by Frostmourne doesn't count because she wasn't the Dark Lady yet, and the puzzle only counts the deaths after she became the Banshee Queen. Or maybe the shot in the back didn't really kill her, but just injured her.Seeing her role in the expansion, and how she has Xal'atath and how she's a major actor in BfA, I'd say that still makes much more sense as Azshara.I mean, at one point, just stick to one answer. ^^'Stop trying to fit the answer to characters by stretching the concept of death to states of mind. ^^
You took Azshara drowning and being turned into a Naga as 2 separate deaths within the same action. They weren't.
Blizzard tends to be (boringly) simple and predictable, so it's probably Alleria since she herself said she felt like she has died twice.
A bland cinematic for a bland expansion.
Azshara has only had two deaths The first two listed were the same death.
Interesting analysis, well done as always. However, I have few remarks:1) As many players before me I didn't enjoy that there was not a huge "spoilers" sign in the title, but that's a minor thing if you are wandering on wowhead the day the raid is released (EU).2) I totally disagree that the third death quote refers to Azshara. She "died" once with the sundering, specifically with the transformation from elf to naga as specified by N'Zoth quote "It won't be long now. Your death is near." (https://youtu.be/hndyTy3uiZM?t=200), and now a second time by the players with this raid. From a storytelling point of view it makes no sense to consider that as two separates death, if would have been much much easier to just change the original quote (before the release obviously) to "At the hour of her second death, she will usher in our coming.". Azshara's death happened ten thousand years ago so is it unlikely that the story development was confused and/or decided to change it.If they would have changed the quote from three to two that would have hugely increased our speculations range since there are many many more characters that died once/twice already, and this is beneficial for the team since they are trying to be cryptic and make us speculate.3) The final boss is N'Zoth. No discussion about that, is clear as day after that cinematic. What I would like to point out is that we have no evidence that any old god is able to resurrect any other old god. It is very much possible that are able to resurrect "lesser beings" such as individual mortals (Azshara) and the army belonging to the black empire. However, if I remember correctly according to the Chronicles, N'Zoth would have no reason to resurrect or help in any kind of way Y'shaarj since they are competitors/enemies. Each of them want the complete control of Azeroth to bring about the hour of twilight, corrupt the slumbering titan and turn it into a dark titan.Other than those, keep them coming :)
Wouldn't say that Azshara died three times. The Sundering and bargain with N'zoth could be counted as one and so she died only two times by now. But thats where it makes sense that N'zoth saved and revived her. So she can die once more to rise the black empire. So maybe N'zoth needs her to revive C'thun and Yogg'saron or just to drain the void power out of their bodies/corpses. And thats where Sylvanas could also fit because where is Y'shaarjs corpse or void power? Beneath Orgrimmar where Garrosh lost. Somewhere that power must be gone when Garrosh was beaten and the heart most likely wasn't able to hold the power anymore...or maybe it was and so Y'shaarj left unshakled there influenced Vol'jin to declare Sylvanas as warchief and also manipulated her to do all things that happened. Y'shaarjs heart needs a new body and there is only one fitting left: N'zoth. So I would say that the blade is now in Orgrimmar and Sylvanas is absorbing Y'shaarj in it and then we fight a heroic fight against the revived Azshara and a supporting N'zoth and at last Sylvanas is stabbing N'zoth so Y'shaarj can take over his body. And so the expansion ends with the rise of the black empire under Y'shaarjs command for the next expansion.
The first death took place during the Sundering, when the waves crashed down around Azshara, sending her empire into the sea.The second death took place with N'Zoth's bargain, as her elven body was destroyed and she was reborn as a naga.Nah... in my mind these two things count as one... if anything she only died once and that was when she took the Bargain... Sounds like a badly written Fanfic and a massive *WTF* moment if this is the case.
Death 1 and 2 are the same. She didn't even die when the city was flooded. She made the bargain while alive. It's time Blizzard just admits that they have the writing skills equal to LOST. I mean that's why we have the same shadow monster from LOST.
It doesn't add much, but, Nathanos does appear briefly in Nazjatar for quest turn-in's as part of Baine's Rescue if you made the appropriate choices. He's outside a naga camp wielding his bow, no Xal'atath in sight. He directs you to play along and aid again. Afterwards he says something along the lines that letting everyone escape, or live, was a necessary part of a greater plan. Then he runs off and disappears again.
