I miss the days when gearing was straight forward. Get (x) piece of loot = equip it. All this complexity for gear, just makes the game feel more cluttered. If they want more complexity in the game they should go back to talent trees, were everyone can play around with different talents. All this RNG for gearing proc (3% crit damage), enhancements, etc... doesn't help the game feel more exciting or better. Every azerite trait should be a talent, not locked away behind RNG of getting the correct piece. Same with all this corrupted gear- 3% added crit damage should be locked behind a talent in the talent tree, not behind RNG of gear.
Hmm, no surprise really. But the socket must be removed if the corruption is cleansed.Problem is, if it stayed around after being cleansed, then you have a long grind to getting all the sockets you can. Also, overinvesting in one piece of gear is a questionable design decision. It all depends on how big of an investment it is.
