Legal or not, multiboxing is a plague and shouldn't be supported or encouraged in any way. These 'farmers' are just screwing other players by depleting nodes and saturating the economy. The only reason blizzard doesn't care is "more accounts = more money".
"multiboxers seldom bot" riiight. like it's not scummy even without botting.
Reminds me of a person on my server who multiboxes a lot. He owns probably 80% of the things sold on the auction hall. Feels weird to see the same person selling everything everywhere. Kinda killed my drive to mess around with the auction hall. It's like thinking about competing with Walmart.
I do not need to multibox.. I have one account.. I hardly use Auction, but I made over 2 million gold in bfa in one year.. enough gold for regular sub.
Why is it so hard to explain to people that multiboxing does not make you more money? You wrote that you only have to fly to a location once to loot it on 5 characters. Well fun fact... Your subscription runs out at the same time aswell. You are farming gold for 5 accounts by letting them fly together. It's the same as doing it on 1 account for 1 subscription, just with less efficiency. Don't let people fool you.
The way I look at it is people should stop telling people that their way of enjoying how they spend their free time is wrong. Sorry to say this but blizzard has already spoken on the issue and regardless of how you feel your opinion at the end of the day doesn't matter because blizzard is the only entity that sets forth rules in their game. As long as players adhere to those rules they are fine. As far as people that claim multiboxers only sell their gold the reason this is highly false is because many of them have spent thousands of hours on their accounts and characters. Many people don't just multibox but also do many other parts of the game as well. There have been ways in the past few years that blizzard has nerfed multiboxing and that was when blizzard felt that it was to strong or could have been abused in some way. If people want to multibox they can, if they don't then that is fine too. Some people do multiboxing because of the challenge or because for them it was the natural profession of their goldmaking. At the end of the day we are all playing a game that we love and enjoy spending time on and that is what we should care about, not care how people are playing that game.
Thoroughly agree!I do multi-box usually dual, and I find it fun and challenging. Honestly it's up to the individual. I LOVE reading the weekly Econ Wrap up, but as far as working diligently to make gold - no thanks! I find it admirable the creative ways people make tons and tons of gold - that's their enjoyment. No different than the highest tier raiders/pvpers, etc. I make enough for my needs period - which doesn't cover my subs - as I don't play to pay for them (that sounds too much like work!). It's for fun and enjoyment. Blizzard gets my RL money every six months for two accounts and I do not mind paying. But for those that are interested in trying multiboxing as mentioned - ISBoxer and Multiboxolgy with Mrai - the way to go. He's top tier on multiboxing!========As for the stupid amounts of gold reddit post - that's rather impressive how organized and efficient. Thanks for posting the link.
As a multiboxer myself (currently 8 accounts) i try to ignore AH as much as possible for several reasons.I don't want to flood some markets.I don't want to fu*k up others' gameplay.I have buyers that buy from me directly via COD or trade.AH fees. The only thing i pretty much post on AH are BoEs i get while farming, all the tidespray linen i get are either getting crafted into pants and vendor or i sell to a buyer directly. For mounts, i usually try to sell them via trade chat.
Where's the content?
If more than one action on one character is happening with one keystroke then it is automation.
I multibox 10 toons on Misha and you can definitely make more gold per toon. I haven't had to pay with real money for my subs since the game tokens were added to the game. sure I have to buy 10 expansions every time one comes out but I just spread that out over the year with preordering. As far as the auction house goes I only sell a handful of crafted items, a few mats, a mount or two if lucky, and whatever BoEs I might get.
I have not historically been prepared for Patch updates with goldmaking in mind, and even this time I am only dabbling to see what may happen. Stockpiling a few resources that are likely to be in demand is about as far as I have had the time to take things, but even than has me curious. At earlier patch releases I was either unsubbed due to RL issues, or I was more focused on experiencing the content rather than bothering with gold (like a majority of the player-base, I suppose). I see the opportunities, but I also recognize there will be limitations for me given the populations of the servers I happen to be playing on (one Medium Pop, the other on the high end of Low Pop). I honestly have lost most of my interest in Retail except for the sake of earning gold so I can play Classic (at my own pace, with my own goals there as well). It's a funny balance, but whereas Retail is a hectic rush of Missions, WQ Emissaries and posting/reposting, Classic is a slow and deliberate climb that feels worth the investment. I've no desire to multibox. The only thing that might appeal would be having a second account so I can be working the AH some while also flying around to WQ's, but the investment and hassle doesn't seem worth that small benefit, at least right now.
