They can meet it head on or lose control of their game.
just delete gold entirely so peopel can trade ressources for other stuff or farm it on their own, maybe this solves it?
Token is not the way.Any exchange between real world currency and game world currency is bad for the game.
Botting and RMT has been around since the beginning. Why we anyone not expect to see it in Classic? Slow news day?
Its really cute you think Blizzard cares. They're fully aware and doing nothing about it. One of the many reasons I refuse to play classic.
Blizzard always has been slow and lenient vs RMT/sales. It's to be expected that they will always happen. They would need to design the game in a way that someone can't skip content so people don't want to get boosted.
I don't really agree that the (legitimate) players are to blame for this problem.Blizzard just needs to actually do more to solve this problem. Stop banning in waves and ban IMMEDIATELY. Hire more Game Masters. Learn the behaviors of RMTers and observe people engaging in those behaviors. No more suspensions. PERMANENT BANS.
If anything, boosting should be a bannable offense, just like botting.
1 trade of gold per day, limit to 1000 gold? Bit extreme but it would definitely curb gold-sellers enthusiasm. And would also force them to use different characters/accounts. Then again, I can see all kinds of problems even with that. I definitely don't envy Blizzard devs the position this puts them in.
Never played diablo 2 when SOJs were the currency? Deleting gold wont solve a thing, something else just becomes the currency
Introducing the token won't eliminate the problems, it will simply give blizzard the bigger piece of the pie. What they should do is ban botters (yes it is extremely easy to identify them) and flag accounts that receive huge amounts of gold in short periods (e.g. someone getting 1000g in 24h) in order to trace the origin. If it comes from a suspicious source then use your human resources to investigate and ban both gold buyer and gold seller. Biggest part of the problem is that blizzard doesn't want to take action against any player in fear that he will start a riot on reddit. We have all seen those "BLIZZARD BANNED ME" posts with the 10k fake upvotes. Reddit is the biggest threat to wow, people buy upvotes in order to promote their opinion and blizzard listens...
