With hard capped AOE, how does it choose the targets? Is it just a random roll on which mobs are damaged if there are more mobs (say 7) than can be damaged with a 5 target spell?
did you watch any of the Castle nathria raid testing people are already saying one of the bosses is going to be an absolute nightmare with the target capping
This should NOT apply to anyone who is solo.Apply it to dungeon groups only!
Is the target cap coming in the pre-patch or once Shadowlands goes live? RIP anyone running Hivemind or Carapace.
Glad they're making this change! good decision to that "pull everything, AoE everywhere! don't die" mentality, it simplifies the game in a way there's no thinking, only "being" there.
This system shouldnt be active in legacy content... And yes, actually it is :/
Another boneheaded change. Soft-capping is the obvious way to go. It incentivizes players to avoid super-large pulls. If you happen to pull a couple extra the mobs will take longer to kill but all take the same amount of damage. With hard caps, each player hits a different set of 5 targets and they all die at different rates. That feels bad. Every hard cap should be changed to a soft one.
