I've got an SSD for system stuff and one for WoW.. seeing as the latter only has about 10 gigs of free space left, I recon it's time for an upgrade. Can't imagine having windows on a hard drive, now that I've experienced a world of <30 sec boot speed xD
When you go to dalaran once a month, it takes ages. If you go there very often, it loads maybe faster then bfa zones. Comparing zones like dalaran or that damn arena is not greatest example i would say
I used to to have wow on a HDD for like 8 Years. But like 3 months ago i found out that its waaaay better to have it installed on a SSD and Holy Sh1t the Loading screens goes way faster, Especially New Dal Loading Screen!.Haven't regretted the choice of upgrading a single bit!.
I purchased an external SSD and have noticed zero difference in loading times, despite being told that the fact that it's connected via USB wouldn't matter, it would run the same as an internal SSD. Other than the fact that I was able to move Wow and sims 4 to the SSD to clear up space on my harddrive, it was a waste of money.
For anyone wondering about NVME vs regular SSDs - dont bother yet, if all you do is gaming. There is almost 0 difference.between the two in loading times. NVME drives are better at most things but it has a lot more to do with transfers of larger files or productivity tasks. For gaming you wont notice a difference. At least not yet.If you find an NVME drive for a good price, go for it because future proofing is good. But if youre choosing between a well priced regular SSD and an expensive NVME drive, go for the SATA SSD.
It took him 30 seconds on a ssd? Think the guy needs to get a new one..
I switched to an ssd drive years ago and I can not imagine going back.I'm surprised so many haven't made the switch as they are so much cheaper now than the were before.
There's really no excuse not to have an SSD anymore. They're literally cheaper then a month of WoW time sometimes.(new and on sale)
Some people are actually trying to defend HDDs for games. Wow.....how low can u go
