OMG! If you're chromie timing with a party, this would be real bad. Thinking possibly "do you want to finish questing? you'll gain no xp." question/warning would be in order.
Oh, wow, this is a TERRIBLE choice? What if someone's working on the Loremaster achievement? Maybe just wanting to play the entire expansion through? Yeah, they had better delay launch to FIX things like this...
What kind of bs is this. Let the kids play man..
Why cant you quest through BFA with chromie time?
Well, i think it's best to delay the buying os this expac a few months...
I'm sure this applies only to me and like 2 other people but I would even like being able to use Chromie Time in old endgame zones to make farming old reps and such a little more engaging. So yeah I don't like this restriction at all
not seeing a problem. the goal is to hit level cap as quick as possible. your always going to decimate mobs in a old xpac because your suppose to. its not like its current content and ment to slow you down. i would rather them keep it like this as it saves me having to use a hearthstone just so i can start sl content
They should just disable the ability to gain XP from mobs/quests from previous content once you hit 50. Maybe give us the ability to toggle between "timewalking" and current level to turn on/off the mob/quest scaling once we are 50. This could be done at the capital similar to War Mode. Something like that would allow people just farming to easily blast through mobs but also allow players who want to legitimately experience the story with a bit of challenge to do so. I think this is a super easy issue to solve and hopefully Blizz will spend this newfound extra time to do this.
Quick and easy solution. Disable xp gains at 50 as long as you are in Chromoe time. Problem solved...
This is an actually good thing if you are a new player (MMOs are too huge for new people so this will help newbies to start right away) but, it would be 100% perfect if there is an option to disable it... there are many scenarios like leveling with friends, it could mess up your plans. So we need an option to op out of that and just simply turn off EXP gain from old quests once we reach lvl 50.
Kinda horrible in certain situations, but yeah it was going to end up working like this at some point.. Level 50 being the max level for the pre-patch means they need to make Level 50 scale up to 120, and that means scaling up the world. At 50 you hit "max Level" and are expected to quest in the Shadowlands, not sit in old expansion content.
I don't see why it should abruptly ended. We can just have a quest pop up like the Broken Shore of Legion when we hit 50 or have Chromie let us know that Azeroth needs us somewhere else. We should be able to continue the Chromie time but with lower exp gained
They should definitely give you the option to stay at level 50 and stay in chromie time or progress out of it. I play the game to experience the story and imagine my character going through the world. The challenge is a critiacal part of that in many cases. Of course I also like soloing old content for transmog but I should be able to choose which characters to do that on. The guy in the post made a lot of good points for even being able to go back and reduce your level to do dungeons and stuff to keep those pools active long-term.
I mean they could just disable xp gain once you hit 50 if that's their issue with it.
Why don't they just make every zone scale from 10-50 instead of going through these weird hoops.
Just make it work from 50 to 60 after you have already a 60 that completed main shadowlands story, so you can enjoy chromie 50-60 leveling alts
I get the feeling that we could probably get a decent Venn diagram of, "People who dislike this because they want to stay challenged even with old content" and "People who want Blizzard to maintain 'Classic' servers for other old expacs".That being said, this is a visually jarring experience and it's honestly REALLY out of line with how it works currently in retail. As an example, my Zandalari Troll Druid hit 100 while questing in WoD and was immediately given the Legion breadcrumb quest. I personally think that that is how it should be: as soon as you hit 50, Chromie (as a stand-in for whomever is going to be our initial SL guide) pops in like "HEY TAKE THIS QUEST TO GO TO SHADOWLANDS," without a timer.I also agree that the mobs should probably stay at level 50, if for no other reason than, again, it's a jarring experience to suddenly be GODMODE ENGAGED on enemies that you were battling evenly before.
Disabling the XP gain would be fine, but teleporting the player out as soon as they hit level 50 is a bit harsh.
