Do these give profession skill level? If so until which level?
Stupid question but what's the point of Relics of the Past? Seems like heirlooms with a lot more work involved.
I really like the idea but I don’t know how useful it’ll be when shadowlands actually comes out because it stops at 50. Maybe something else will come along to update them to 60? Or maybe it’ll be awesome for twinks?
Blizzard are definitely trying to recreate the leveling game, rather than just have it something you need to skip and slog through, I really approve. I’m excited about leveling characters up again, and choosing a different ‘campaign’ with each one for the 10-50 experience. I really hope every future expansion is added to this system. There is definitely space for more campaigns! As for the crafting, I’m guessing it is a way of stretching out the ilevel of craftable gear - as it used to only be needed for the 5/10 levels for the expansion, so is very ‘flat’, not like the original classic profession which covered 0-300 skill levels. So the relics from the past seem like the solution to this; you may only have one or two craftable sets, but you can alter them with relics to make them appropriate to your level, depending on where you are on your 10-50 journey. Also now that heirlooms no longer give +xp bonuses, they are much less necessary and really just convenient because they scale.
Shame they nerfed the gear from ilvl 100 to 87. Will stick to farming Ic rares on alts I guess.
I think its a neat way to harmonize crafting as we stuff 15 years of WoW back down into level 60 container. Thumbs up.
Something I've heard is that they're removing the "you need 75 skill points in this profession's vanilla bucket to do the DMF profession quest" and you'll be able to do them at any level.
So will alts be able to max out old professions at level 10? Will they only be able to learn the profession patterns for the exoansion they choose to level in? How will this work with thinks like sky golem recipes?
