We can't have things like well paid employees in other countries potentially impacting the millions Bobby needs to stock his bathroom roll with. When you have to OUTSOURCE your employees from ASIA you know they're scraping the barrel for any cent to present to Bobby.
Bobby needs more money.
and yet we're still waiting for the three days b4 SL release, so because a few think millions may care on WoWhead be real with yourself most do not and the ones saying the old heads left Blizz cause w/e reason, don't pretend it was all glitter n gold when they were in charged, the game still the same just different people, you whine n cry yet just like me you're still dropping that monthly $15 and this is not me defending just stating my opinion, yea losing jobs sucks but end of the day it happens n I wish them well but don't pretend, cause are most just riding that hate train that I see with ever article when it comes to Actiblizz firing or people leaving, you do know other jobs do this same thing but I see no one researching or crying about them but when moment WoWhead or MMO-Champ writes anything Actiblizz related the crowd goes wild, again not defending them but It seems you should speak with your wallet an not your keyboard on a news site but I digress, also does this even involve WoW or this on the CoD side?.
Guess bobby wants a bigger bonus this year.
You don't even have to be pro or anti blizzard to see this is what dying businesses do before eventual collapse. The vast majority of game publishers are expanding their overseas offices and growing their business, blizzard are clearly shrinking. Honestly if the next Diablo sells poorly or if overwatch "2" isn't popular long term then it raises a good question if Blizzard is even a triple A development studio anymore.
It seems the more money they make the more people they fire.
I got my SL refund back when they offered it. SL doesn't sound very interesting and I'm just not interested in Blizzard/Activision as a company anymore. I honestly have no plans to play WoW in the foreseeable future. I still like following the news cycle because I do have a lot of friends who enjoy the game and it keeps me in the know with them.
For a long time I dismissed the "Actibli$$ard" whiners. I still think they were mostly wrong, in so far as claims Activisions ownership affected game design decisions, and it was a go to stock phrase whenever anything they didn't like happened. When thousands were laid off despite record profits, I realized they're was an element of truth to the concerns. I'm all for doubling down investment in development staff, but that does not need to be at the expense of good people and good support, who got the company where it is, to hit some arbitrary staffing target. Despicable behaviour then, plus the lies made in Paris, and now this.Love the game, love the devs, love the staff... even happily defend mangers and leaders at Blizzard, I think they all do a smashing job, even "you think you do but you don't"... but the Activision board pushing this sort of nonsense are <unsuitable for publication>.If an office needs closing, or a team needs making redundant, you do it better. Retrain, redeploy internally - while remaining on the payroll throughout. That's how you genuinely show you value your staff when redundancies do need to happen. Outsourcing has it's place, sometimes it's the right decision for a company, but if it's driven largely by cost savings when you are not in financial trouble, rather than to draw on skilled external experts, it will probably end up backfiring.
