Hunters: This pet is supposed to be tameable, but at level 53 (Survival), I can't tame one. The taming starts, then ends in a second or two. I have long since used the Mecha-Bond Imprint Matrix for Mechanical pets. The mob is not exotic, as far as I can tell.

It may be the phasing - I have an NPC following me around, but even when not in combat, can't tame. May have to wait until this quest phase is over, but I'm concerned that the Umbral Phalynx will disappear with the end of the quest/phase.

Haven't seen any other comments regarding this mob, including Petopia.

I'll post when I find out. This may be one of those ultra-simple things that nobody ever posts about because it's ultra-simple.
