A beast native to Outland. It has a body much like a stingray's (thus the name), with a long tail and what appears to be two feathery plumes. It appears to have crystalline growths running down its body, and all types are brightly colored, with stripes running down the back.

Nether Rays have been found in Netherstorm and Zangarmarsh, and are tameable as Hunter pets.

These guys can drain your mana with a channeled spell, but it's got a short range. Running about fifteen yards back should cancel it.

While most of the locations on the map show the Nether rays everywhere, those are just the "patrol" Rays. Which are just a single ray out by itself. A very farmed location and concentrated area would be at the (46, 72) location.

NOTE FOR HUNTERS: If you are looking to tame a nether ray as your pet only the Rays in the Coilfang instances come with complete stats. The regular zone rays have reduced stats when tamed (like 80% of normal armor, 95% of health, etc) .

These are approximately the same model as the Blue Riding Nether Ray.

these mobs are pretty easy to kill, as sub rogue i used shadowstep then ambush and the critical took away half its health.
I got these stingers for quest in about 6 kills
