These carry rhinos to their deaths at high altitudes..so mean.

Patrolling around The Foot Steppes in this zone, and they cast a frost damage bolt that chases your mount.

~~At 46 62 there are MANY MANY Stormpeak wyrms that die from alliance eagles and they CAN be skinned~~ , i am not a skinner but a friend comfirmed this for me. I wish i was skinner.. *sigh*

Edit:With 3.0.9 i can't find these dead wyrms anymore . Probably blizzard nerfed the place

The Frost Spit that these guys cast will follow you forever. the Spit 'missiles' go considerably slower than an epic flying mount and don't disappear when you get out of range of them, so they can be kited to wherever you want.

I flew all the way to Dalaran and they hit me about a minute after I arrived.
It's fun running around populated areas with huge flying things chasing after you.

Theese can be killed as a mage by
1) using slow fall on yourself
2) getting onto your mount (flying ofc),
3) then fly to them + target them
4) head off epic mount - AND Ice Lance the ^&*! out of em

Voila - 1 piece of aggroed wyrm.

Yes, these can be skinned after the eagle kills them.

I've been having trouble fighting these guys myself, they get on top of me and I can't cast because they aren't in front of me.
They just get too close.

These guys are incredibly annoying to fight as a caster. They appear to have a huge hitbox and as a result, when they get ontop of you (if you dont 2 shot them, aka resto shaman doing JC daily) they keep repositioning in such a way that they are right ontop of you and can hit you, but are not infront of you which results in you being unable to cast spells that require you to face the target. Just thought id put this out there, I thought something was wrong with my character or it was a glitch.

As of patch 3.2 these npcs are no longer skinnable UNLESS you can loot them.

wow i almost had a heart attack when i saw one of these, I've been looking for the Time-lost Proto-Drake and i thought that was it... but i guess not

The closest mob that I've found for Shipment: Intricate Bone Figurine Jewelcrafting daily. They're usually at an altitude, so use a ranged, and sometimes they hover just above melee range and spit at you; but they'll lower.

Random bit of information: Just watched someone get frost spit on them a few times in the middle of Dalaran. He checked his combat log to find out what was hitting him. The wyrms are invading.

The resting pose of these mobs is different from that of other Proto-Drakes seen in game. Perhaps there is another that uses the same at-rest look, but I can't think of any. You can see the pose I am talking about in picture #3, above.

It'd be nice if the Proto-Drake mounts used this same grounded pose instead of the one they currently use, with their winds all spread out. They look rather like bats, in my opinion.

This is the only NPC I've been able to get the Proto Dragon Bone for the daily Jewelcrafting quests right away (as of 15-Sep-2013).
