Compiled a list of abilities she used on me when I killed her:

1) Vile Blood - a default passive that gives her a chance to do additional nature damage on a melee hit

2) Piercing Chomp - physical attack; leaves a 9-10 sec debuff that increases damage taken from Piercing Chomp by an additional 10% (might stack, but at the moment she casts so many things the debuff falls off long before she reuses the ability)

3) Trailing Breath - frontal nature damage; leaves a line of green goo on the ground that hurts to stand in

4) Bouncing Instability - random nature-damage attacks on any nearby players; green circles appear on the ground and bright green bolts of poison swirl out to those locations; dark green waves flow outward from the point of impact (as of this post, standing where the blobs land and getting hit by the waves did no damage to me)

5) Spew - appears to be another breath attack BUT it actually spawns Bio Spores where the Spew lands; similar to the spores in Loatheb's room, if you stand in melee range of the Bio Spore while killing it, you receive a 100% critical strike chance bonus for 20 seconds after it dies

As of now on Beta, it's not particularly difficult to kill her (the most difficult part for me were the aggressive podlings that kept respawning on/near me); however, with tuning and abilities dealing damage properly, it might be one of the more challenging encounters in this zone if done at her level (lv. 93).

Killed this guy 10 times today and not getting the quest item.
Not sure if it's bugged or if there's some pre-requisite?

I came back a couple hours later and then I did get the quest item.

He will not drop the quest item until your outpost has been established.

easy as a prot warrior, although takes some time. if your health dips low just pull a nearby mob, they die in two or three hits, then use the victory rush proc. don't make the mistake I did and kill it before getting your outpost though, wait until it's possible to get loot

Biolante is a rather direct reference to "Godzilla vs. Biollante", the second film of the Heisei Godzilla series (Toho's first continuity reboot), released in 1989. Biollante in the film is a plant monster (Well, Plant/Human/Godzilla hybrid), and Biollante's final form has several tentacles with mouths on the ends, not unlike the Mandragora model.

Possibly the most colorful fight in the game. The most difficult part of the fight (at least at level 100) is the distraction from all the pretty stuff swirling around you while you burn it down.

Biolante is without a doubt a reference to the Godzilla monster Biollante. She's a plant monster who's only appearence in a Godzilla film so far is Godzilla vs Biollante of the Heisei series.
