The complete guide to the Barbaric Iron Set for Alliance:
(and for Horde without the transfer hassle)

Yeah, I know the quest to get those are Horde only, and yeah, you did read right: you can get those as Alliance too. So, what you need to do? If you´re on a PVP server, stop reading here and check your neutral auction house, there´s nothing you can do about that. If you´re on a PVE server however, here´s what you can do:

Short Version:

create a Horde Deathknight
play through the introduction
port to Orgrimmar
level Blacksmithing to 140
complete Orokk´s quests
transfer the patterns to your Alliance main via the neutral auction house

Long version:
Creating a Horde Deathknight and playing him through the introduction takes you about 2 1/2 - 3 hours, after this you´ll be offered a portal to Orgrimmar, exactly where we want to go anyway. Unfortunately you can´t get Orokk´s quests right away, requirements to meet are: a character level of no less than 32 (which you are of course), at least a Blacksmithing level of 140, and a whole lot of stuff to turn in for the quests.

Let´s start with the Blacksmithing: I followed the guide on WoW-Professions, but no matter which guide it will be about the same, and I´d pick the path based on availability and prices. If you´re farming it on your own, consider it to take about another hour running through low level areas to get you all the stuff. If you´re going to buy the stuff, consider that you will be owning about 20g after the introduction from loot and quests, on most realms that won´t be enough to buy everything though. So you can either transfer money over from Alliance side (beware: neutral auction house cuts off 15%, so 100g become only 85g on the other side), or you can buy the stuff on Alliance side and transfer that (either way please be aware of the tips I wrote about transferring via auctioning towards the end of this post).

Additionally you need a whole lot of stuff to turn in for the quests, all of which you can create via Blacksmithing as well. Since some of those require a higher skill than 140, I found it easier to have it crafted by my main, and getting it transferred (also you´d need a limited supply pattern for learning to craft the Solid Iron Maul). But no matter by whome it gets crafted, these are the total mats needed:

(Tip: It may be worth having a look at the AH in advance, sometimes those items are listed way below the price the mats would cost, simply as people use them to level their skill)

Having the mats acquired, you have to craft the following:

- For the quest Barbaric Battlements:
2x Patterned Bronze Bracers
2x Bronze Greatsword
plus the 2x Sharp Claw

- For On Iron Pauldrons:
4x Bronze Battle Axe
4x Bronze Warhammer

- For Trampled Under Foot:
4x Green Iron Helm
4x Green Iron Bracers
2x Green Iron Leggings

- For Horns of Frenzy:
2x Solid Iron Maul
2x Silvered Bronze Boots
2x Silvered Bronze Gauntlets

That also is the order in which you get and complete the quests, before you can finally enjoy Omosh Dance of Joy.

Being the proud owner of the patterns for the complete Barbaric Iron Set on a level 58 Horde Deathknight, there´s only one thing left to do: get them to your Alliance main. As earlier stated, you can achieve that by simply transferring them via one of the neutral auction houses in either Booty Bay, Gadgetzan, Everlook or Ratchet. But watch out, you can´t buy your own auctions! So simply listing them with the Horde toon and relogging to Alliance to buy it won´t work, you either need a 2nd account, or a trusted friend to buy them for you. Also I wouldn´t list them at a too low price, even if you´re going to loose some money from the cut, could be too tempting for the wrong person to buy.

Congratulations, you are one (or rather 5) steps closer to the completion of your Blacksmithing tradeskill!

Some additional info for Horde: the 5 quests do not count for the Loremaster of Kalimdor, but they do count for the overall quest tracker.

Has anyone tried to do these quests since the last patch? I haven't been able to verify if they are or are not in game anymore.

having some trouble with “Horns of Frenzy” quest.
I haven’t got the plans for “Solid Iron Maul” so I cant go any further ,
the blacksmith teacher dosent teach that,

so how do I get the plans for Solid Iron Maul ?

Does anybody know, if u transfer from Alliance to Horde with blacksmith charackter, if these quests becoke available to u? Considering that u already made similar blacksmithing quests on the alliance side?

Some constructive observations of this very good guide is in order. Excuse if some of these observations are elementary.

All should be aware that the Chevalier de la mort is a Hero class with certain restrictions. In order to make one you must already have a level 55 character existing on the realm you intend to farm the plans and only ONE Chevalier de la mort is allowed per realm. If you already have a Alliance Chevalier de la mort or you don't already have a level 55 character on the intended realm then you will need to make a Horde class, if you already don't have one with any profession, from scratch and level it up.

Second observation is if you can make a Horde Chevalier de la mort, the class starts at level 55. You may as well level it to Niveau 60 (héritage). This is because at Niveau 60 (héritage) you can learn Expert cavalier. And if you intend to farm the materials it would be much easier to gather by flying between the mining nodes. This is especially important if you intend to farm ore in hilly or mountainous terrain.

Next is the statement that to begin the quest line to obtain the plans you will need a minimum Forge skill level of 140 to obtain the first Barbaric plans in the line. This it true. However when you reach the requirement to make Heaume en fer émeraude this trainer taught plan requires you to have a minimum Forge of 170. So you will need to plan ahead the total number of materials not just for fulfilling the quest line but in skilling up your Forge as well. This isn't too difficult if you lack a Chevalier de la mort as most of the materials can be farmed in low level zones. Bear in mind though that Minerai de fer is mined from Gisement de fer. Most of these Gisement de fers are found in level 30 to 40 zones thusly you should have a level 36+ character to easily avoid or handle the respective zone mobs.

Orokk is still handing out his quests as of patch 5.3. However, considering all the changes happening in Orgrimmar as of 5.4, it may be a good idea to get these recipes if you haven't yet before that patch. Blizzard may just delete these quests then as they did on Un yéti rien que pour vous, the quest for the engineer recipe for Tranquil Mechanical Yeti in 5.2.

WARNING! as for BFA the recipes are obtainable, but if you're using the AH to transfer to the Alliance side, you may lose the recipes because some addons will target an expensive item if listed underpriced, this happened to me, i put two recipes and got bought the very second i listed them, literally, the very same second i listed them. One player was kind enough to give it to me, the other i could not even find him, so i lost one. I think the only safe bet is character transfer or find somebody wanting to move a good amount of gold to the horde side, and do the truce, still should be someone you know you can trust.

Those of you who maxed out your classic Blacksmithing below level 32, this is the reason the guy won't offer up these quests. You need both the blacksmithing skill, and reach level 32.

Starting from 9.2.5, we can just send recipes from Horde character to Alliance character (provided they are on the same account and on same or connected realm).
