a few observations on Mana Flare:

1. if your Blinky is the *faster* pet, you'll activate Mana Flare & get attacked in the same round; and on the following round, your Mana Flare will still be active & able to express damage if blinky is hit.
- if *faster* and use Consume Magic on the round after Mana Flare, you will consume your mana flare! so, watch out for that. of course it is worthwhile to Consume Magic against an enemy that only hits you with DoT's because Mana Flare wont express its damage against those. (Sylla in revendreth - the third pet, you know, the swarm of flies critter that blinds & poisons you is an example)
- if *faster* and Mana Flare triggers your dragonkin family passive, you are a Jedi (Thenia in Bastion - the second pet, the one with rain dance & prowl comes to mind)

2. ?
- if you have Blinky ~~at level 25~~, you have chosen wisely. go ahead and try Mana Flare. take note of the damage it deals. then read the tooltip. .
