I had a hard time finding anyone to help with this quest. He walks a path from Stromgarde & Dabyrie's Farmstead with 2 other elite types (lvl 36 I think). See links above for Sigil of Arathor item for path he walks. I got lucky while looking for him solo. His group came across the Horde courier group walking towards Hillsbrad. When they started fighting each other, I attacked Lt Valorcall. Item dropped and then helped the courier group kill the other two.

Easy to solo as a rogue, just sap valorcall, wait for his adds to leave, and kill him.

You have to sap adds cuz sapping of valorcall stops all caravana.
Easy to complete rogue 41lvl.
Very good exp for him. With rested i got 1000xp.

since patch 2.3 this quest is no longer elite making it a lot easier, all 3 have roughly 1k health each

as a level 39 ret pally i could kill these with losing roughly 25% health, no healing, they really hit like pussies

valorcall is a pally, he might heal, he didn't when i fought him, but even if you can't interrupt "bursting" him down is easy enough even if he heals

EDIT: because i couldn't loot him first time i fought him a second time and he used divine shield, during this time he'll probably heal, just turn on his adds or keep bashing him untill the shield wears off(roughly 10 seconds)

I don't know if anyone else has been having this problem, but I couldn't loot this guy if I killed him inside strom. I kept getting "you don't have permission to loot this corpse".

If you kill him on the road that runs past Strom he'll be lootable. Not the path that leads up to Strom, but the road that runs past it.

confirmed, you have to wait till hes on the road that connects to the road leading to stromguarde in order to be able to loot him. even relogging didnt work for me when i killed him any sooner.

As a 36 rogue it was surprising easy, i sapped valorcall and then proceeded to eliminate his guard. Didnt pop evasion, although i used a pot. The guards appear to be weaker than usual mobs. Valorcall heals himself so cc him before he can heal. He also bubbles on low health. He patrols between Stromguarde (alliance side) along the main road, through Refugee Point to Dabyrie's Farmstead

easily soloed this as a 38 fire mage, fireball the lieutenant, then aoe the rest of the fight and it's cake.

I had the same problem killed the guys but was unable to loot the bodys. So i logging out an right back in and was able to loot the bodys.

Ok, I just had a conversation with a GM regarding Valorcall...

He said to kill the bodyguards first, then kill Valorcall, OR you can wait for one of the bodyguard's body's to disappear in order to loot Valorcall.

Honestly, I don't know if either of these options will work. I killed Valorcall on the road to Stromgarde, logged out and back in and was able to loot the body. /shrug

This guy patrols from Stromgarde Keep to Dabyrie's Farmsteed and follows that road. Its a long path therefore he can be very hard to find. But what i did was i patrolled along the path between the fork and Stromgarde Keep, he showed up in no time.

He said to kill the bodyguards first, then kill Valorcall, OR you can wait for one of the bodyguard's body's to disappear in order to loot Valorcall.

I was able to loot him fine, and i killed Valorcall first

it was so simple with 38lvl druid

start with pounce -> 2x shred -> rake -> claw then i have 5combopoints and then rip and he was down.

Still bugged as of today. Unable to loot, or difficult looting at best. To confirm what was said above, killing the guards first, wait a few then kill valorcall. Let one guard despawn then loot valorcall.

I couldn't loot either at first, even after logging in and out twice. However, the mob eventually became lootable before it despawned. I would definitely continue to try looting before resorting to killing him and his buddies a second time!

I tried logging, that didnt work. Just be patient and keep trying to loot, it will work eventually. I had to do this quest on my main like 6 months ago, and had the same problem. Blizzard - L2 MAKE GAMES!

Must be the luckiest player ever because I got a loot on first attempt and the fight had already started beforehand.

Troupe of forsaken bodyguards attacked and I just joined in, took approx. no damage, so good luck

On my 4thish try managed to solo as a lvl 37 druid.

Ran in, cat form claw claw etc ripped him went bear he started ehaling i had to healing pot and rejuv.

went back to bear fought more used frenzied regen. then killed him finnaly.

the fight lasted so long the 2 bodygaurds died from my thorns before valorcall died

Very easy as a lvl 39 shadow priest. I found them on the road near the Circ. of Inner Binding. Bubbled and killed Lt. Valorcall first, then feared the guards and took them down. And Sticky's comment helped me find them quite easily.

The loot problem must have been fixed. Soloed with my 39 rogue. I did notice that when one add is sapped and killed without touching the main and other add, a new add will take the place of the one you just killed almost instantaneously.

The easiest way for a rogue to pull it off is to wait for the pat, distract them all so they pull a 360, ambush Valorcall and kill him (took me 2 shots, ambush and sinister strike). After he's out of the picture, the adds are pie.

I was very lucky with this one, a passing blood elf lured them away, I got Valor with a fireblast then killed him while the guards were chasing the elf.

It seems bug'd for me after 3.02 patch released. I meant to do it for achievement. I can't loot the body that says I don't have permission to do so.

* wait for the man to respawn
* kill him again
*and then loot it.

So something is still wrong here.

Soloed it as a lvl 39 holy priest, just mindcontrol 1 add with that mindcontroled add attack the other add and in the end finish the 2 leftovers off.
very easy, but watch that they dont heal.

I soloed it with my 35 BM Hunter. i only had 50% heakth keft. that was really easy, dont know why people do it in groups or solo it at 39.

Apparently they respawn instantly after being killed at 53,40 at Dabyrie's Farmstead. I found and killed them right next to the road at that point and as soon as Valorcall dropped dead (I had killed the bodyguards first) they respawned on the road right in front of me.
Just a small bit of info I thought could come in handy :)

I had the worst experience with this on my lock, I was by their spawn point (didnt know it was their spawn point >.>) I would kill 2 then when I would almost have the last guy dead they would spawn again, this went on at least 6 respawns /cry I couldnt get away ='(

If you're having trouble looting the quest item after killing the quest mob, try doing a /reloadui. I killed him and couldn't loot, so I did a /reloadui and then I was able to loot and finish the quest.

Soloed as lvl 34 shadow priest. It's a faceroll with psychic scream and some dots. Had to use a mana pot since my mana regen sucks after the spirit nerf, but oh well. Killed the adds first and then him (on the road), didn't notice any problem at all with looting.

Soloable as a 34 druid in bear form with that extra Herbalism heal, just make sure to focus Valorcall and interrupt his heals. He heals himself and his buddies.

I did the log out, wait for the body guards to vanish, and did it out side of Strom. 2nd attempt got it by looting the body during combat.

Soloed as a level 33 BM hunter with some decent BoA gear and a turtle pet.

The thing that sucks is the fact that he's basically a paladin. I started off by popping AotH and both Blood Fury (orc racial) and Rapid Fire. I went to town on him and right when he was about to die, he healed to full hp. I got him down again and he turned on Divine Shield, so I managed to kill one of his adds while he was immune. Then, divine shield went down and he was back at full health and I managed to knock him out before he could heal again.

I also had an add on me almost the whole time. They don't seem to hit very hard.

It messed up on me twice too, reloading ui, logging out and in.. nothing helped. Actually, rather typically, I got killed by some level ? alliance during my /reloadui - be wary of that one ;)

Simple solution.. kill him first, loot during combat.

I did however still have the same looting problem trying to loot from the bodyguards afterwards, but at least I had the important loot :)

I really didn't seem to have a problem with the quest. First killed the two guards and then the Lt. I then looted both cavalrymen and then the Lt, getting the sigil of arathor from him.

I did it as a 36 BM Hunter. No problems whatsoever.

Kinda hard to see the problem when you didn't experience it, duh. Had some problems looting him when I did the quest today, but it worked after waiting for 3-4 minutes.

Had a few problems with this questy myself, and i think i have figured out what is wrong with it... sorta...

Saw them on the map, had a friend run by and agro the group then run off...

Once my buddy no longer had agro i went and killed the group, couldnt loot them but my friend could...

Tried the same thing again but after killing them i waited about 3 minutes and looted them just fine...

Then i killed them after a respawn and was able to loot that time with no problems...

Hope that helps a bit...

I loved these quests in hammerfall when it was Elite. Now its boring and just another easy grind. The cavalarly leader now was *!@# easy, the whole group went down with 3-4 arcane blasts (w/ frost nova).

Found him on the road directly north of that circle with the elementals, I'm 80 doing Loremaster, so all 3 of them went down with 1 swing, but had no loot issues.

Horde side perspective:

As larkspur states, you can find him on the road. I was lucky enough to find him near Refuge Point, getting ganked by the troop of Undead NPC's that patrol the road. I helped them out, sighting him first because I didn't want to chance them killing him before I could get credit. Then I finished off the other 2 NPC's with him. The Undead ran off. I ran over and looted the corpses.

Ive just had the same loot issue on this quest but it could be a bug from the previous quest in the chain, after I handed in 'Sigil of Thoradin' I had a sigil fragment in my bags, didn't think anything of it.
When I came to loot Valorcall for this quest I kept getting permission denied etc and couldnt loot him, however I then deleted the 'sigil fragment' and immediately he was lootable.

I just did this quest with my druid and I encountered the looting problem as well. After killing Valorcall and his guards three times and not being able to loot I submitted a ticket. I went ahead and engagged them a fourth time on the main road close to the road to stormgarde and was unable to loot again, but I walked a fair distance away and came back and it allowed me to loot the corpses. The corpses were on the main road just before the path into stormgarde, and I walked down the main road towards hammerfall till just a few steps past the first "Stonehenge" loking gateway and walked back to the corpses. When I came back I was able to loot them all!

HUNTERS!

Put your pet on passive, kill Valorcall, then feign death.
The other two will get on their horses and vanish.
Then the corpse is lootable.

Description

Though they can barely be said to control Stromgarde, let alone the whole of Arathi Highlands, the human prince trots the remnants of his cavalry over the countryside. I can't understand why he does it, but who understands the way the humans think, hm?

Whatever his reasoning, more importantly, he has given one of the sigils to Lieutenant Valorcall, their cavalry leader. Locate him and bring his sigil back to me.
