You will need to gather approximately 500+ Cyphers of the First Ones to unlock the Metrial, Aeelic, Dealic, & then the Sopranian Understandings and you will need to unlock those understandings in that order. The time to unlock these understandings have been fluctuating on the PTR from anywhere to a couple of days to a week of research time per understanding. Once you unlock the Sopranian Understanding you will need to head over to Pilgrim’s Grace and speak to Elder Amir and grab the quest called Finding Tahli. This will take you a short questchain that you will need to complete. After you complete it wait until the daily reset and on the next day go back to Pilgrims Grace and speak to Tahli to get “The Lost Component” quest. This quest will get you started on a small quest chain that you will need to complete, once you’ve completed that quest chain you will have the Protoform Synthesis unlocked and have the ability to craft Deathrunner!
