This set uses the green (officially "Bronze") version of the "A3 Mail" artwork (I guess by "bronze" they mean tarnished!). It forms four pieces out of a seven-piece set of the art (shoulders, belt and boots missing).

Note that the two listed chestpieces use slightly different styles: the Cadet Vest has sleeves but the Turtle Scale Breastplate does not.

There are also matching boots and belt of the same artwork and colour: Bottes de cadet and Ceinture de cadet. Unfortunately they're common quality and so aren't currently available for transmog.

Together they look like this, anyway.

Helm artwork doesn't exist for this set, so just choose whatever you think matches. While there is a Heaume en écailles de tortue, it uses unrelated artwork and so isn't listed here.

Shoulder artwork DOES exist, but I haven't found an item in-game that uses it. It's also a bit complicated... For other colours of this set (see below) the shoulders are roughly the same colour, but a bit lighter than the rest of the pieces. But for this green set, the shoulder art colour is entirely different, more of a light orange. There's also a Gold version of this set, but the shoulder art for that one is missing. That makes me wonder if they accidentally copied the art for the gold shoulders over the green ones by accident. Then again perhaps it was intended. If so, the shoulders would resemble a light orange version of Protège-épaules en écailles laminées.

Haubert ogre is an alternative source for the chest and has short sleeves.

Brassards en plaques de bronze (Horde quest only) offer an alternative look for the bracers (and are identical to Brassards de cadet). These actually use the correct bracer artwork. The ones for this set actually use the top of the gloves for the bracer art. Not that it matters much since they'd be hidden anyway.

There are five other colours of this set in the artwork database. Unfortunately none have a significant number of pieces available that are transmoggable:

Purple: four pieces, but missing the crucial chestpiece. No transmog page so see this link to view appearance and list of pieces. The shoulders are much lighter than the rest of the set but that's intentional. In a cruel twist of fate, the chestpiece is the only piece of this colour that does exist in leather instead of mail: Armure épaisse de Murloc
Copper: four pieces of the Copper Chain crafted set (missing shoulders, bracers and gloves, no page so click on the link to view appearance and pieces). Only the chest is uncommon quality, the rest are common, so not available for transmog currently. Tunique en chitine de ravageur (Alliance quest only) is a sleeveless version of the chest
White (officially "Silver"): Laminated Scale set (no page so click on the link to view appearance and pieces). Sadly it's composed of poor (grey) quality items so not available for transmog currently. Peau de Slark (very rare) and Chemise d'An'telas en plaques (Horde quest only) offer transmoggable versions of the chest. Garde-jambes de redresseur de torts en fer and Jambières de Tranquillien en plaques (Alliance and Horde quest rewards, respectively) offer transmoggable versions of the legs. Two pieces of this colour are available in leather: Cuirasse en écailles de Murloc and Brassards en écailles de Murloc
Indigo (officially "Blue"): Sooty and Frigid Mail sets (no page so click on the link to view appearance and pieces). Both are composed of poor (grey) quality items so not available for transmog currently, except for a couple of pairs of the shoulders
Gold: as far as I can tell this set doesn't seem to be available in the game except for a single belt: Ceinture lourde abîmée

The Fenclaw Mail set has a similar color and scale pattern (not the same), as well as artwork for boots, belt and shoulders.

While leveling my leatherworker, I hit a point where out of 5 orange patterns, 2 were of this set (another 2 of them were yellow, and the gloves were green). So I set out to make at least one of everything in this set, including the Heaume en écailles de tortue that isn't listed here (because apparently it's not quite the same artwork, see earlier post).

You need:

Ecaille de tortue x84
Cuir épais x48
Bobine de soie lourde x5

See this comment on the turtle scale page for best farm place. I was farming the bay by gadgetzan, a guildie was farming those islands, and he won hands down.

Not quite responding to myself...

So we got just enough turtle scale to make two full sets of the Turtle Scale set. (with 3 scales left over...)

So now I'm trying to figure out what a reasonable asking price for the entire set would be. I realize economy shifts by realm, but I'd like a target to try to hit, anyway.

Suggestions?

May like Spallières du Proctectorat to match, and a shield for shammies Bouclier en écailles de tortue usé. View in 3D.

Alternative pants: Jambières en écailles finement ouvragées.

I've seen this set laying around in my leather-working book and decided to craft it for my lvl 60 hunter.

Here are the parts I used

Of course start by crafting the actual leather-working turtle set
Heaume en écailles de tortue or any matching piece of your choice as this isn't the proper artwork for it...
Cuirasse en écailles de tortue
Jambières en écailles de tortue
Brassards en écailles de tortue
Gants en écailles de tortue

Now for the complimenting pieces;
As the boots and the belt for this art work are common, here is what looked to match the best with this set :
Grèves odieuses
Torsade de Cobrahn
Espauliers de Comté-de-Darrow

So hopefully you guys like my suggestion, i find it to match pretty well all together, check the screen shot and let us know what you think of it.
