Purely from an aesthetic point of view:

This a fantastic looking balance druid themed set! We don't get to many sets that I feel are balance themed (the only other set was the SoO tier 16, and you might be able to make a small case for one or two others), most sets look to fit feral or resto themes. This is maybe the first true balance druid themed set though. Everything from the name (astral warden) to the design, just calls out to balance druids. It's adorned in feathers as well as owl motifs.

The coloring and style of the set also appears to favor a night elf appearance rather then other druids.The color scheme matches pretty perfectly with the new night elf moonkin model. Also, the general pastel purple kind of color scheme that comes with night elves is present here. Another nice bit is that we get an actual matching cloak for this set that isn't listed here:

The mythic version of the set looks very nice, as do the LFR version and the PvP version. The coloration of this particular version looks the best to me though. The PvP and mythic version of the sets are somewhat similar but both look a bit more priest like to me. The LFR version has more green themes to it giving it a bit more nature style feel.

Overall, I love the look of this set, the shoulders gloves and belt all especially look very nice. Yes, I also actually prefer the leggings to the robe style appearance, though both look nice. Many weapons pair up nicely with this look but I especially like the following:

The white glowing moon in the center matches the shoulders perfectly and the color scheme matches almost spot on.

Another brilliantly matching weapon for this set to consider:

Bâton d'armes du gladiateur implacable

Slap an icy chill illusion on this one and the glow comes very close to the glow on the shoulders, works almost perfectly.

Prior to the release of Legion I didn't think Blizzard would top the design of druid ToT set (Haunted Forest). But I have to say, this set really just knocks it out of the park if you play balance spec and looking to keep things themed up.

A minor gripe is that the belt has some serious clipping with the robe. (and I believe this is mostly across the board for races/specs that wear robes and have belts with hanging visuals - hopefully this is something Blizzard might fix at some point, as it's really a large number of players that will have to put up with this right now.)

edit: With 7.1 Blizzard changed the appearance of the chest armor, at least they changed Robe du gardien du bosquet (this used to be Grove Keeper's Tunic). I'm not sure if a chest is still available that isn't a robe.

Am I the only one terribly disappointed by the clipping on this set? it's probably one of my absolute favorite appearances in the game so far, but the belt clipping into the robe just absolutely ruins it for me. I wish there was a way to keep the glowing belt design but lose the dangling pieces so it didn't clip. it drives me crazy and ruins an otherwise beautiful transmog.

The set goes nicely with the owl appearance for the Flight Form glyph, and the up coming class "mount" which also turns us into owls.

Is there a cloth set with an equivalent color scheme? I like how it matches the Sabre-de-mana d'arcaniste

Do note, this set is open to ALL leather users so demon hunters, rogues and monks can use this aswell.
