I think this will be amazing for when a Death knight uses this together with Anti-Magic Shell (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/spell=48707) in an arena match.
I'm guessing it would almost have the same effect as a paladin bubble (though only lasting for 5 seconds, but then again with only 1 minute CD)

Using this against a 2 frost mages team that is just about to burst will be pretty effective I think.

I've to say that this item is perfect for Sindragosa's normal encounter in 10 man. As we use only one tank (me, as feral) in the breath's she's doing aproximately 55k's of frost damade with the reduction, and resist mitigation it becomes 48k's.

All calculated with Barkskin and t10 (4 bonus) I can resist the 3º breath and the raid can beat her, so to say .... perfect item for Sindragosa her-self encounter.

Is this trinket used mostly for the giant amount of Stamina? Because personally, resistance isn't of that much importance when it comes to most encounters.

You should have 75 resistance to all of these schools from a druid buff in the first place. This gives a mean reduction of 12% of the damage you take. You can technically take anywhere from full damage to 70% damage while under the effect of a druid buff, going in steps of 10%. So you can take 0, 10, 20, or 30% off of a hit with a druid buff alone. They don't all have an equal chances (ex. 0 reduction is a lot more likely than 30%) but those are the possible values, which I'll use because I know tanks hate RNG.

This trinket + Imp. MotW = 343 resistance. 340 resistance gives a mean reduction of 40.00%. The possible values are 30, 40, 50, and 60% damage reduction from any given magic attack while using this. The chance to get a 60% reduction, however, is tiny. Probably negligible.

Resistance totems / Aspect of the Wild / paladin auras / Prayer of shadow protection will mean that for most schools applicable to most fights you should have 130 resistance, where possible. Mean resist of 20.30% with values of reduction ranging from 10-40%.

This trinket + one of the above effects = 398 resistance. That is going to reduce damage from anywhere to 30% to 60%, with slightly more favorable odds for the better resistances than this trinket and a druid buff alone.

For giggles, let's say you have an Aura Mastery affected aura already. This trinket + that = 528 resistance. That's going to be anywhere from 40 to 70% of an attack resisted, whereas if you just had aura mastery, you'd resist anywhere from 20 to 50% of an attack.

Remember all of this assumes you have no resistance gear whatsoever equipped.

Just in case anyone was wondering how useful the resistance would actually be.

TL;DR: Assuming your raid comp fails at bringing resistance buffs, this trinket is guaranteed to reduce the maximum amount of damage you can possibly take from a magic attack from 100% to 70% for its duration, although RNG wise it's nowhere close to guaranteeing that you'll actually take exactly 30% less damage.

With raid buffs active, this amount will be slightly less as stacking the resistance stat has diminishing returns in Wrath and beyond.
