You get 5 of these from Runas in Aszuna, as well as the toy Broyeur de cristaux de Runas .

You do not need to keep the Petit cristal tellurique at all, you can dispose of them and find some more in Aszuna if you really want.

One crystal is consumed when you use Runas' Crystal Grinder to create 20 Crackling Shards. If you use up the 5 crystals you get from the quest reward, you can pick more up later scattered around Leyhollow cave.

You can pick more of these up in the Ley-Ruins of Zarkhenar after you complete Le retour de la faim. They are on the ground in various sizes and are bright pink. You can only carry 20 at a time and they're sellable on the AH.

Its a reagent for the grinding stone you get from Runas in Azsuna. He gives you both the 5 Small Ley Crystals and the Leystone grinder they're used for as a quest reward.

SOME TECHNICAL FACTS

The respawn timer of these appears to be about 2-3 min at most.
When hovering over the crystal, your mouse icon will become a cogwheel.
They are looted instantly once clicked.
These serve no useful purpose other than a cosmetic effect when combined with Broyeur de cristaux de Runas to create Éclats crépitants.

They're fairly abundant and not really worth the time to pick them imho.

20 hour cooldown on the Toy that uses these, i guess they dont want anyone eating too many pop rocks. What measure do they determine how long to make cooldowns on toys i wonder as these dont appear to be worth the cd involved, just destroy them or carry them forever like i did on my main before reading this.
