Was killing Kharad l'Ancien to collect Crâne de Dragon impressionnants for Les fables de Tarjin and found 2x Sang imprégné d’un élément in 25x kills. Also got one from the non-elite Wild Poro-Drakes in that area /way #2022 40.87 80.50
Didn't yet test the ones where you enter the Dragon Isles first.

At L70 in iL315 gear it took me about 90 minutes to farm three of these around the Preserve by Dragonscale Basecamp (west of the flight point on the map). I killed the 'Apex' elites when they were up (they have a respawn of a few minutes) and otherwise flew around gathering up groups of 4-5 Wild Proto-Drake with the occasional Wild Proto-Dragon and AoEing them down. It was a low drop rate--probably less than 1/30. One of the three dropped from an Apex, the other two from Wilds. This isn't a great drop rate, so it might take 100-200 kills to get all three. (That or I have horrific luck.)

Thank goodness they are not soulbound. If you collect them on alts, on the same server at least, you can send them to a single character that has the soulbound item.

I just got one from an elite Apex Proto-Dragon! The one that's sleeping on a grassy rock formation down by the water in Wild Preserve.
EDIT: This was during an Elemental Storm, looked like fire

Every drake drops either Proto-aile en lambeaux or Griffe énorme de proto-dragon, so your kill count is easy to track. The drop rate listed here on 5-6% and 13% are incredibly an overstatement. At 68 kills, I have yet to see one drop.

The price of these (24g) don't equate to their very low drop rate.
Don't waste your time farming them, just buy them off the AH.

So there are 41 variants of Proto-drake sauvage according to Wowhead. There are 29 variants with 112k health (assuming you're level 70), these do not drop Sang imprégné d’un élément. Those with 225K, and the elites ie higher HP do drop it. Some variants are flying and you'll struggle to aggro them if you don't have a ranged attack. Don't waste your time farming the low HP ones!
