I'm not sure why the text isn't on wowhead yet, but from screenshots I've seen on Twitter this book seems to be verbatim transcription from an old lore source - the Warcraft III manual, I think - with an extra paragraph following each original paragraph laying out someone's opposing perspective.

I absolutely love this kind of thing.

1 - Unaware of Sargeras' mission to undo their countless works, the Titans continued to move from world to world, shaping and ordering each planet as they saw fit. Along their journey they happened upon a small world that its inhabitants would later name Azeroth. <A note has been scribbled on the page> Pathetic! What sort of "saviors of the universe" fail to notice that their efforts were being undermined by one of their own?

2 - As the titans made their way across the primordial landscape, they encountered a number of hostile elemental beings. These elementals, who worshipped a race of unfathomably evil beings known only as the Old Gods, vowed to drive the Titans back and keep their world inviolate from the invaders' metallic touch. <A note has been scribbled on the page.> Evil? According to whom? It was these titans who maligned the glory of the Black Empire.

3 - The Pantheon, disturbed by the Old Gods' penchant for evil, waged war upon the elementals and their dark masters. The Old Gods' armies were led by the most powerful elemental lieutenants: Ragnaros the Firelord, Therazone the Stonemother, and Neptulon the Tidehunter. <A note has been scribbled on the page> They looked upon the most impressive empire in existence and hated they hadn't made it for themselves! In a fit of jealousy, they tore it asunder.

4 - Their chaotic forces raged across the face of the world and clashed with the colossal Titans. Though the elementals were powerful beyond mortal comprehension, their combined forces could not stop the mighty Titans. One by one, the elemental lords fell, and their forces dispersed. <A note has been scribbled on the page.> The titans do love to make themselves seem grandiose. History, is as always, written by the victor.

5 - The Pantheon shattered the Old Gods' citadels and chained the five evil gods far beneath the surface of the world. Without the Old Gods' power to keep their raging spirits bound to the physical world, the elementals were banished to an abyssal plane, where they would contend with one another for all eternity. With the elementals departure, nature calmed, and the world settled into a peaceful harmony. The Titans saw that the thread was contained and set to work. <A note has been scribbled on the page> Fools! The power of the elements was not so easily contained. Nor could they bind the influence of the Old Gods. The "peace" the titans offered came only through oppression.

6 - The Titans empowered a number of races to help them fashion the world. To helm them carve out the fathomless caverns beneath the earth, the Titans created the dwarf-like earthen from magical, living stone. To helm them dredge out the seas and lift the land from the sea floor, the Titans created the immense but gentle sea giants. For many ages the Titans moved and shaped the earth, until at last there remained one perfect continent. <A note has been scribbled on the page> The author of this tome is either a liar or a fool. Were they truly ignorant of that which lies beyond the waves? Or were they merely commanded to spread titan propaganda?

7 - At the continent's center, the Titans crafted a lake of scintillating energies. The lake, which they named the Well of Eternity, was to be the fount of life for the world. Its potent energies would nurture the bones of the world and empower life to take root in the land's rich soil. Over time, plants, trees, monsters, and creatures of every kind began to thrive on the primordial continent. <A note has been scribbled on the page> The titans wounded the world with their recklessness, then insisted it was done by design. Preposterous! It was the Old Gods who nurtured the flesh of this world, not the titans!

8 - As twilight fell on the final day of their labors, the Titans named the continent Kalimdor: "land of eternal starlight". <A note has been scribbled on the page> A yes, the titans' final erasure of the wonders that once existed. They even stole away the land's true name and replaced it with one of their own.

I checked the entire vault to find this item, watched a video linked in the comments to confirm what it looked like and I never encountered it. Hopefully this is just because there are different versions of the rooms and I can find it after the reset. :)

I did not get this from my vault last week (Az) or this week (Ur) so either it's extremely rare (yay for RNG achievements) or it's bugged and it's supposed to have spawned in one of them but just didn't.

I got this item from the vault last week, but not getting credit for the achievement. I tried reading it, putting it in/out of bank, but no luck. Wonder if it's bugged, anyone else has this issue?

Still haven’t found this in my vault... This is fun (no, no it’s really not)!

Edit 1: Two weeks/resets after this comment: The book is still nowhere to be found and I am also missing two items for the mount. Absolute RNG hell.

Edit 2: After over a month I am still missing this book. I’ve been through Horrific Visions and Torghast but this is by far the worst instanced RNG content in the game. Total miss. The designers should be ashamed.

Edit 3: Found it today. Had to port with the scroll to the third floor and look down - couldn’t see it with the Anomaly Detection from the bottom floor.

Since the release of the patch 10.0.7 and I am fully unlocking my vault each week, still haven't obtained this book. It is the only thing now that stands between me and my meta-achievement. Some of my friends got it from 1st and 2nd week of patch. If you are like me who opened more than 150 doors and still don't have it, you are not alone. Hopefully the RNG will do the work.

After watching the video on this page, it seems this book is in a room that has multiple other books in it. It is a plain looking book with a blue cover. After 5 full clears of the vaults I have not seen this room yet. I also noticed that the Teleporter Room did not appear in this week's vault for me. It seems you have to wait for the "correct" room to appear in one of your runs.

You can use Détecteur d’anomalies modèle I to see if the book is up this week without wasting your keys.
Seems like the book only spawns on 2nd floors, but i am not 100% sure. Easy to check with Anomaly though.

This fing book REFUSES to appear in my vault. I've done the vault every week on multiple characters ever since it was first released. Never once has this damn book appeared in any of them...

Edit: FINALLY! Stupid book spawned...on an alt I have basically no other progress on for the meta, SMH.

I can at last clarify a couple things:

1. It spawns on the second floor. Not the top floor like the Opéra des Aspects and Livre vivant.
2. Détecteur d’anomalies modèle I DOES reveal it. Just like the Opéra des Aspects and Livre vivant.

So save your keys by using Détecteur d’anomalies modèle I. Just port into the vault, clear the mobs in the central area, use Détecteur d’anomalies modèle I and look around, but don't open any doors. If you don't see the book, then you're out of luck for that week.

I finally got this book. As RNG sucks and keys aren't the easiest thing to farm anymore I have an easy way to find it as mentioned in some other comments. With the ability Détecteur d’anomalies modèle I you can stand in the middle of the room and look around to see if there are books in any rooms. They will have a purple outline that you can see through the wall. So all you have to do is open the rooms that have the books behind them and hope they have the book your looking for. With this said good luck friends and happy hunting!

So this book spawns on 2nd level? I've used Anomaly Detection Mark I every week since FR came out and even today, nothing.... I saw people talk about 3 books spawning but I only ever see the same ol' two. Am I doing something wrong?

Apparently if the vaults don't get opened they randomize every day. Yesterday (8/7/23) i checked the vaults with Détecteur d’anomalies modèle I, i could see the Livre vivant and Opéra des Aspects in the same vault and i logged out (while inside Zkera). Today (9/7/23) i could still see Livre vivant and Opéra des Aspects but in opposite vaults.
Also something i don't see mentioned is that the vault doors hide the outlines so it gets a bit tricky with different angles.

Every week since 10.0.7, still no book om my main.

But I started checking last week on my alts and have found it on all alts both weeks. Some strange pseudo random seeding probably, wish I knew how to affect it.

2023-08-16: I switched spec and equipment for this week and found it. Not saying it affected the pseudo random seeding, but worth a try.

Some people here mention that the book spawns on the "2nd floor" or "2nd level". Can someone clarify which level it is? Do you count the ground floor as level 1 or 0?

Edit: Got it today and it was on the floor right above bottom level, in a rool full of books.

Alright: bare with me here. And if you're as desperate as I am, try this to get the book.

I have spent four months of my life, logging into WOW on reset day every week, and rushing to Forbidden Reach to see if the books have spawned with Anomaly Detection Mark I.

This week was no exception. Logged in on Wednesday, saw the same two books on the third floor (ground + 1 + 1) and went about my business.

I can't sleep due and it's 3am in the morning and I figure, maybe something has changed.

I use ADM1 AGAIN, and it's the same two books AGAIN in the same exact room. Frustrated that I came all this way for nothing, I decided I'll at least go click on those two f--king books.

As I flapped my way down to go to the entrance, another book spawned in front of my eyes - and it was the Old Gods book I needed. It was on the second / first floor (ground floor + 1). I could not BELIEVE it.

I'm 100% sure it wasn't there before hand I clicked on the two books, because I ALWAYS look up from the ground floor.

Give it a whirl, I'm finally thrilled to be done with the vault and hope to never see it ever again!

My 7 month journey is finally over. It finally spawned on 2nd floor for me today.... I can finally live my life unburdened... Don't give up folks. It'll spawn. Eventually lol

FINALLY done with this meta. I can confirm like many others that I've read about before me that this book spawns on the 2nd floor. I went straight in and immediately used the Détecteur d’anomalies modèle I item, and there it was :)

I'm never setting foot in those vaults again.

At last, i found it this week after month of farming!

I went directly to the second floor (1 being the ground level), I used the Anomaly Detection Mark I and I could see it immediately behind one of the doors!

I'll never go back to this place again \o/

Writing error or retcon?

On Page 5, the book says, "The Pantheon shattered the Old Gods' citadels and chained the five evil gods far beneath the surface of the world."

However, the WoW Chronicles book states that there were only 4 Old Gods (C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, N'Zoth and Y'Shaarj). Only 3 of these Old Gods were actually chained underground, with Y'Shaarj being picked out of the world and killed by Aman'Thul.

I was quite worried after reading all the comments here to end up in some RNG hell and never be able to complete the Meta Achievement.
I found the book today after reset. I do not know if it matters, but maybe it does:

I checked the Vault today on 4 Alts (all I tested). And ALL 4 Alts had the Book up. On the First Floor (not ground, one above). Visible with Anomaly Detection Mark 1.
Last week I checked the Vault with 10 Alts - non of them had the book.

This week it was "Vault Ur" - (There are multiple Vaults, they change every week.)
Since I had the book on 4 Alts in "Vault Ur" - maybe the chance is pretty high or it is always only in Vault Ur?

Worth investigating.. and good luck to all!

I don't know who has been spreading this misinformation, but Les Dieux très anciens et l’ordonnancement d’Azeroth (annoté) is NOT a weekly chance. It's just RNG!
If you are missing this book for the Bibliothécaire des confins achievement, DO IT ON YOUR LVL 70 ALTS IF YOU HAVE ANY.
There are 3 books from the Zskera Vaults, and only this one is rare. It's a very likely chance that one of your alts has this book and the other 2 in their Zskera Vault.
Find those 3 books, finish the achievement on that character, it'll count for your main.

Don't timegate yourself when it isn't needed.
You can buy Clé des caveaux de Zskera for only Fournitures des îles aux Dragons from vendors in the Forbidden Reach, send them to your alts, and get this done in a day, instead of waiting weeks for it to show up on your main.

For reference, I completed this achievement on Day 3 of the Forbidden Reach patch last year with this method. I ended up finding all 3 books in 1 run on an abandoned paladin alt.

To achieve Bibliothécaire des confins you have to collect all the books listed there.
Most of the books are trivial because they can always be picked up in the open world.
However, three books come from the Zserka vault.

These books are NOT hidden in the treasure chests in the vault, but are lying around openly in the rooms.
However, there seems to be no guarantee that they will always be there.
With a character that has all books except Les Dieux très anciens et l’ordonnancement d’Azeroth (annoté), I searched a full vault without finding it.
Another character had already found the book at some point, but the other two had not.
This character has now also searched an entire (different) vault and found all three in a single run.

If you were in the vault with several characters, then it makes sense to look at this achievement for all of them and do it with the character who already has the rare book. The completed achievement counts for the entire account, but it must be completed on one character.

Coordinate lists are available in the English comments of Bibliothécaire des confins.

Having a whole meta gated behind the weekly spawn of one unnecessarily rare item is peak game design. You get more bites at the pie each week with each 70 you have, but that really shouldn't be a necessary hoop to jump through for something that otherwise seems like it was intended to be done on a single character.

100% the best way to get this is to check every week on every max level alt you have. After checking weekly for 3 weeks on my main with no luck, I hopped on four different alts, the fourth one had this book on his vault on the second floor, along with the other two on the last floor. After getting all 3 all I had to do was fly around the reach to pick up the remaining books, and bam. Save yourself so much time and do this on all your alts.
