Has anyone ever gotten this to drop from Al'ar? I searched all through the Eye and didn't see anything interactable. I also waited around for a while after killing Alar just in case something appeared afterward.

Rukhran and Rukhmar are also possibilities.

Has Skettis been attempted yet?

The text on this item reminds me of Rukhmar. The Original Rukhmar died somewhere near Arak, which in Outlands, would likely be Skettis.

She was later resurrected in a weaker state, and perished somewhere and when unknown, so anywhere in Outlands could still be an option.

But if it is in Skettis, perhaps you need to use Élixir des ombres to find it, and maybe Figurine perdue dans le temps to see it?

Pure speculation. Worth looking into.

Perhaps someone smarter than me can figure it out but the flavor text "Taken from a fallen bird of flame years and moments after its end." makes me think that the moments refers to a possible kill in Spires while the years refers to something triggering afterwards in Skettis. I've been trying out Miroir changeant to hop between Spires and Skettis while wearing Amulette à plume cendrée and seeing if anything I do in Spires will affect Skettis in some way like with a Rukhmar kill but no luck so far.

I am almost certain I had this in my bag, the problem is that it would have been on toon (DH) that was used strictly for generating Mald stitchyard. (Checked his bags and item restore nothing)
Next possibility would be monk who lvled up enough to get to DF and almost no legacy content. (Same, no luck)
Dracthyr might be the second contender: As he is strictly gathering. Odd mob he fights, I vigorously searched forbidden reach before I could leave. (When they have test your flying with the reset amulet.) He too seems to have nothing and no item in the restore

Lastly: My main, (hunter) very very unlikely I deleted from his bags ever. (He hoards everything not grey.)

Its possible because I farmed Firelands, that in my brain I am seeing the seething embers .

All in all, maybe its from starring at this page for 3hours (while I scoured item restore,) That has me really really convinced I had this item, that flavour text.

Also: The WoW item restore sucks now. Can only search by page count and I think it caps at 3 months? (Can no longer search/filter.) Not that it ever worked anyway

Just a hunch but I wonder if this is the point we "build our own phoenix" to get the "years and moments" ember... if the pieces of the phoenix are from different times it would make some sense.
Not sure about HOW though.

Item is a 100% drop from Timewalking Alysrazor in Terres de Feu. Cataclysm Timewalking must be active.
You combine Braise de phénix étincelante into Talisman de cendres de phénix used for secret pet Phénix ailes-à-vœux.

Gather group in LFG ( 2/4/12 is fine ), proceed to Vormu in Your main city and queue up for the TW raid.
You can go straight to the Alysrazor skipping all the bosses.

To get Une audience auprès du grand corborateur quest all you need to do is the campaign quest it must be (Story Progress 5/9) so you can get the quest >> here is the starter quest >> Les ombres de Skettis it will take 30 min as lvl 70 to do the camping to 5/9 do it until you get Anzu <Raven God> NPC in the city and it will give you Le culte des corborateurs do it until you get Une audience auprès du grand corborateur after you finish it you can visit Zektar so you can buy Talisman de cendres de phénix for the secret pet Phénix ailes-à-vœux

You can not get multiple drops of Braise de phénix étincelante on the same character (at least not on the same lockout), but you will get the drop on alts even after completing the Phénix ailes-à-vœux on another character.

How to get the pet:

Step 1: Before you start, make sure you have done the Worlds of Draenor campaign quest at least 5/9. You can check from this achievement Travailler d’arak-pied. You can also confirm this by going to 52,40 in Flèches d’Arak and check if you can see Zektar. If you can see him, go to step 3. If not, go to step 2.

Step 2: Head over to coordinates 37,18 in the northern part of Flèches d’Arak and find Azik, who will give you the quest Les ombres de Skettis. Keep doing the quest chain until you are at least five out of nine from the campaign quests, where at that point you will have Anzu give you the quest Le culte des corborateurs. Go through the questline until you get to the quest Une audience auprès du grand corborateur, which will take you to visit Zektar and you are now able to purchase items from him. Now that you know you can see Zektar, it’s time to start the grind!

Step 3: To purchase the Talisman de cendres de phénix from Zektar you need one Braise de phénix étincelante, 20 Cendres de phénix inertes and 10 Cendres de phénix sacrées.
Braise de phénix étincelante - You can only get this item when the Cataclysm Timewalking is active. Find a raid group for Terres de Feu and defeat Alysrazor, who will drop the Braise de phénix étincelante for everyone in the raid group. No previous quests are needed to get the item.
Cendres de phénix inertes - This item drops from Elémentaire de brûlure at Fireplume Ridge in the center of Cratère d’Un’Goro. You are going to need 20 of these and unfortunately, the drop rate for this item is pretty low. Ideally you join a group and everyone can loot each other’s mobs. The Elémentaire de brûlure shares its spawns with Brasier vivant, so make sure you kill both.
Cendres de phénix sacrées - Head back to Flèches d’Arak and look around for cookpots around the area, and you will find the Cendres de phénix sacrées inside of the cookpot. These have a respawn timer of between 15 to 30 minutes, so if you don’t really want to be flying around empty cookpots, just sit and wait for the ash to respawn in a cookpot and keep doing this until you have all 10.

Step 4: Once you have the above items, head back to Zektar and purchase the Talisman de cendres de phénix. This is just one of the items you need for the pet.

Step 5: Next you need to collect 20 Plume cendrée and 15 Cendres de phénix incandescentes from the Rivages de l’Éveil.
Plume cendrée - To see these items, go to Eskrokar and purchase Amulette à plume cendrée. Using this item will give you a 1 hour buff enabling you to see Plume cendrée on the ground close to Oisillon de lave and Phénix de lave.
Cendres de phénix incandescentes - These drop from Oisillon de lave and Phénix de lave in the Rivages de l’Éveil. Item is a bit of a rare drop so be ready to dedicate some time farming these.
Tip: Purchase the Amulette à plume cendrée before you start farming the Smoldering Phoenix Ash and collect the Ash feathers at the same time.

Step 6: Once you finally have all the items, that is, 1 Talisman de cendres de phénix, 15 Cendres de phénix incandescentes and 20 Plume cendrée, head over to Tarjin l'Aveugle all over to the west side of the Rivages de l’Éveil, coordinates 16,62, where he will have a quest called La légende du phénix, which will give you the pet in exchange for the items you collected.

And gratz! You’ve got yourself the Phénix ailes-à-vœux pet!
