In order to capture a soul with Cage d’âme vide (crafted by Joaillerie), the elemental must die while casting Inhalateur d’âme Zappeur-Gazier (crafted by Ingénierie). The best method is to use dots, as well as stuns to prevent any abilities that may interrupt the cast. Once you receive the soul. do not open the item until the "Encaged" turns into "Docile", which will happen once the 15-minute timer expires. Docile souls may contain pets, but the majority of the time it will contain the elemental crafting reagent,

What worked for me was going to The Storm Scar at Ohn'ahran Plains. There are NPCs at 26.02, 38.75 that will kill mobs, and there is a Stormbound Colossus that patrolls around at 24.77, 37.42 that you can pull to the NPCs. The catch is that first you have to kill the non-elite mobs that stand between the Stormbound Colossus and the NPCs, or else they'll all aggro on you.

There is another Stormbound Colossus at 24.23, 39.43 that you can pull to the same NPCs. This one has a good chance of leashing, though, so make sure you keep hitting it while you're kiting it to the NPCs.

The Esprit de trombe, which has a small chance to drop from Âme aérienne docile, was the second of the four elemental spirits that I grinded for. It took me 29 Âme aérienne docile (in comparison, the Esprit des marées took me 31 Âme givrée docile, the Esprit de poussière took me 16 Âme terrestre docile, and the Esprit flamboyant took me 68 Âme flamboyante docile.
